Can't wait to visit! Never been to Palo Alto, so it'll be good to see where I'll be spending the next 3 years
I am! (but you already knew that)
There isn't a cloud in the sky this morning
Haha, yes, I did know that
And it's a gorgeous 75 here in Colorado, so hopefully I get some of that weather in NYC/Chi/SF over the next two weeks.

It is supposed to be beautiful in the Bay Area through Friday, then clouds and rain are supposed to roll in just in time for Cal's ASW. How fitting.

Joining the thread . . . really can't believe I got in. I really wish I hadn't gotten the call at Berkeley's ASW . . . I was having a ton of fun, but the sudden realization I probably won't be going anymore really took the wind out of the sails. And looks like I'll be back here in a week anyway. Did you guys get your packets pretty fast? Would anyone mind posting the dates/times of the Stanford ASW? If they mailed the packet today I probably won't get it until Monday, and I want to make travel plans ASAP.

There's a minority preview day on Friday, the 16th, then events for everyone on Saturday/Sunday and classes to attend on Monday, the 19th.

Is minority defined pretty broadly? Berkeley had something similar, but by minority, they really meant everyone. Is this one specifically for URM admits?

Asian Pacific Islander, Black, Native American, Latino, LGBT students, and students with disabilities are the minorities whom it concerns.

Thanks for posting the full schedule! Obviously I didn't have any expectations to get in, just knew I'd never forgive myself if I didn't try. Figured I was just donating my app fee to Stanford's endowment. Talking to people at Boalt's ASW, it's amazing how many people with much better numbers than me (and equally good softs/life story) didn't even bother applying because "they didn't have a chance." Looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend. Since I'm already down here in Berkeley, I'm gonna drive down to Palo Alto and scout out the area before my flight out.

Absolutely. If all goes according to plan, I'll be in Palo Alto sometime early Friday afternoon, staying with a friend I've barely seen since high school. It's gonna be a fun weekend. My first ever trip to California.
The only negative is getting up around 4am EST to catch a 6am flight.

Beware. The State of California has been known to "grab" many a distance visitor Forever confining them to its endless beaches, slopes, cities, sunny weather, and laid-back lifestyle....

Well, I'm looking forward to the "Minority Preview" stuff, especially the party and trip to the Castro that Outlaw usually does.

I'm also looking forward to sit in on some 1L classes so I can compare with HLS's. (I hope this is possible, I'm not sure...)
It's supposed to be decent weather Fri-Sun, then some showers on Monday. Pretty typical for this time of year.
