There's actually some construction going on if you make a right out of the law school and look to your left. We could meet in front of the construction lol... at least we would recognize each other. BTW the law school is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to meet everyone tomrrow!
alright, meet in front of the construction it is! haha i somehow can picture one of us having a cardboard sign like an airport driver or something

I'm assuming that's the construction on the new library? Is this before or after the open house?
after would be best since we'd already be there for sure

Lol i'll be the 5' brunette NJ italian girl. there's actually construction going on directly to the left of the school and then construction to the right, up a little ways. i think the new library is to the left. so let's agree on the construction on the new library, directly to the left of the school.

oh and by left, i mean it's to the left as you're coming OUT of the school. not if you're facing it.

The Negotiator on Priceline is my new favorite thing. Booked the Madison Renaissance for $70/night (four-star hotel/Marriott/1.0 mile from campus/rate was est. $225/night)

I got a financial aid info packet via mail today...what does that mean? Do they send these to everybody that applies?

When did you get this? I applied at the beginning of january, 3.4/160. I have presented papers in four different conferences on Native American issues and so I decided to apply for the "scholars for justice" scholarship just in case. Haven't heard a word. I got a financial packet several weeks ago, but no decision yet. I would be a little surprised if I didn't get in.

The impression I get is this is sent to everyone. I got it a week or two after going complete.

The ASD today (Mar 26th) was pretty cool! Met a few TLSers and am going out later tonight w/ them. I'll do an actual review of the area/school when I get back to my room tonight and have had enough sauce to make me want to write haha

Where are you all meeting? I had to work today and missed the ASD, and I have to work early tomorrow, but I'm interested in meeting some potential future classmates.

Hi guys -

Just found this board and wanted to chime in. I hope you all are having a great time in Seattle tonight! And I am glad the weather turned out to be so nice.

As for my application, I was complete on 2/11 and haven't heard anything yet. Though, I too see that my requirements list now has all kinds of stuff on it with check-marks that weren't there before. Don't know if it means anything, but any little change inspires hope. :)

I know this is maybe old news on this thread, but since I wasn't here before I'm going to throw it out there anyway. I've lived in Seattle for about a year and a half and absolutely love it here. I moved here from Florida and don't get why people think it rains a lot here! It drizzles is all. And the summers really do make everything worth it. As for the people, I will just agree with what others have said. It's tough to make friends, but I have high hopes that being in law school where so many people are new, this won't be a huge issue. On crime, I've had my car broken into once since I moved here but I left my iPod in plain view so I can't be too pissed. Otherwise, I work at UW and get the crime alerts for the campus. There are semi-regular robberies, but they are generally unarmed and happen to girls who are out by themselves and have their iPhones taken right out of their hands, stuff like that... Anyway I know it's not SU, but I'm guessing there isn't a huge disparity.

So basically I'm just crossing my fingers and waitingwaitingwaiting! Seattle U was originally going to be the only school I applied to, but I ended up applying to Baylor on a total lark because I noticed their application was free. I wish I hadn't done it because they offered me a full scholarship and I've really been struggling a bit with the fact that it seems crazy to dismiss that out of hand, but I honestly don't want to go to Baylor... If I had to place bets, I think I'll be admitted to SU and as soon as I am, I'll be relieved to put Baylor out of my mind. :)

For those of you out getting sloshed in our fair city, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! This is the last weekend that the Bodies Exhibit will be in town, for anyone interested.... :)

I got my financial aid packet yesterday and I'm confused...is this separate from receiving possible grant/scholarship offers? Would SU send that separately? I was super disappointed to just see a list of LOANS available to me sans scholarship money. I would really appreciate feedback on this - all this crap confuses me! LOL

Scholarships would be with your acceptance letter. If you haven't been accepted yet, then that stuff is likely subject to change if they decide to give you one. It doesn't appear Seattle U has any additional grants besides scholarship.

I went complete around 1/20 and my status has said "decision pending" since 2/8. I have a 3.4/160, shouldn't I hear something soon.

Just curious, does Seattle provide any sort of travel stipends for admitted students? If they don't officially offer them, has anyone been sucessful at personally requesting one?

Note: I just copied this over from the other thread. Thought it might be useful for others.

I was at the ASD as well. First time in the Northwest. I love the school and adore seattle. I am declining my higher ranked schools and jumping on the North West train in June.

First night in Seattle, I went to the Seattle Sounders MLS game. UNBELIEVABLE CHARSIMA! The locals love this city to death. I am from LA and must say the spirit of the northwest is undeniable and extremely attractive. It started pouring and nothing stopped the Seattlites from standing and cheering on their team. I was in the chanting section, so every moment was LOUD.

The school was gorgeous and the faculty, top notch. Sun rays came out and heated us up on visiting day. I am not afraid of a drizzle and a moderate climate during the winter. The city was lively! I checked a Jazz show at the JAZZ ALLEY. Intimate, grooving, I was extremely pleased. What more can I ask for?

I look forward to seeing you in class; I will be doing the summer session to get a little head start. I can't wait!
