This year, our law school has had a large volume of equally qualified superior candidates. . . . impressed by your personal statement and achievements. . . . your outstanding background would make you an integral part of our Rutgers Law community".

It then goes on to discuss part time and evening programs. If read carefully, it seems to say they might be able to place me in one of these programs, but there is no guarantee. Thats all well and good for a college kid with no real responsibilities who can wait around another six to eight weeks for a definite answer and can afford to throw down multiple seat deposits. I don't have that option. I'm a little annoyed but trying to make the best of things.
See above. A few other people had that e-mail.

yeah I think that may be the scenario for most people. I actually did apply PT so when I called them and asked them about the email they said the full-time part was a mistake and that I am accepted and that I do not have to attend Law Day, although I really want to, but it is just too expensive of a plane ticket.

I am thinking of touring the school end of April... you think I should try sooner than this?

I'm glad other people got this email...i got the one that was selling the summer program thing and inviting us to admitted students day, then just dean's law day...interesting. I'm also glad I wasnt the only one extremely confused by it. After you emailed the appropriate people have you heard anything back from them? I called them and didnt give my name, and they basically said email the appropriate people if you're interested.

I e-mailed, didn't hear anything back. Called this morning, didn't get a straight answer. I don't want to annoy them with tons of calls and e-mails, but I'd like to know exactly whats going on.

I don't want to bug them either. But I feel like if I'm left in the dark all week that I'm not going to want to leave the admitted students day without something definite.

Did anyone get a second e-mail giving specifics about the admitted students event? I only have the date. If anyone has time and location, please post. If I call the office one more time for info I think they might ban me

I'll be at the Admitted Students day on Saturday. I've never been to one of these? What is the dress code usually? I don't want to look over or underdressed.

There is a post on what to wear to admitted student events on one of the other boards. Do a search. Other than a few random comments, I found it pretty helpful. To sum it up, you don't need to wear a suit, but you should try for something a little more formal than jeans and a t-shirt. And wear comfortable shoes.

Are you bringing any family/friends?

I'm bringing my dad (mostly because that's where I'm staying). I appreciate his input on these things but he generally doesn't say much until the car ride home. He knows i despise those parents that seem to feel as though they're owed something the moment they walk in the door.

Anyway, based on the schedule, they seem to accommodate parents/spouses

I wanted to bring my son because they have build-a-bear and ice cream treats, but I don't imagine he'd sit still through the mock law class  I think its nice that you're bringing your dad. My parents didn't want to pay for the plane flight so I'll probably come alone.

My sister's excited about the Build-a-Bear and ice cream. She's 24 . My parents actually really wanted to go since they're alums from RU-C Law, but they're on vacation.

Hey Keg, what are your overall thoughts of RU-C? If you know, what do your parents think about the job market for RU grads?

so i just found from admissions that because i won't attend Law Day they will mail my acceptance packet out on the following Monday. No one steal my packet!!!!

And, to the above posters, why do you think RU-C will fall in the rankings? It sucks we don't have a student posting on here to talk to.

For those of you who got accepted: Was there anything in your packet saying you needed to reply by 15 April? My packet didn't say anything about it, and I am wondering if I got everything. I got (1) a single letter saying congratulations and (2) a larger packet with my t-shirt and info on the ASD. Was i supposed to get something else?

Also, I'm not going to the ASD as my friend is getting married the same day. Do you think I should RSVP no, or just let it go?

I got something like 5 or 6 items: 1) Acceptance, 2) Dean's Day, 3) Scholarship letter, 4) Scholarship shirt/hat, 5) Acceptance shirt (probably forgetting one). One of them contained info on sending a deposit by the 15th...the good news is, of the $300, $200 is refundable if you tell them by July 1
