you're right, no news is good news. Still drives one crazy thoughhunkydory wrote:I've been complete since 2/2, and haven't heard anything. No more complete updates, no we're still deciding email. A friend of mine went complete at a later date than me, and got a rejection letter yesterday. I suppose no news is good news? It's still frustrating though.
Well I hope it gives those who are waiting for acceptance letters and those without scholarship money to at least consider.algren wrote:Thank you for posting this. Lewis & Clark is really seeking to retain top class students by offering the majority of the scholarships in motherloads to those students. I suppose this is a tactic to try and increase LSAT and GPA averages of each successive entering class in an attempt to increase selectivity and approach elite level. Lewis & Clark is also spending a lot of money on paying their professors and keeping the student-to-faculty ratio low. This is also indicative of the fact that L&C is also on a very tight budget comparatively to other schools. They really seem to be active in moving up the ranks.
I was told that by the first deposit deadline there should be "considerable" amount of money left over. Those who submit the first deposit will be reconsidered for the remaining pool of scholarship money.
Anybody find it fishy if the school claims to NOT have funds to redistribute immediately after the first deposit deadline?KraftEZ wrote:I talked to an assistant admissions director yesterday for a good half-hour. Talked about financing law school and the infamous "out-of-money" letter.

they had funds, but gave them all away. They are waiting to see what funds will not be claimed and reissue themDonnyMost wrote:Anybody find it fishy if the school claims to NOT have funds to redistribute immediately after the first deposit deadline?KraftEZ wrote:I talked to an assistant admissions director yesterday for a good half-hour. Or even fishier if they claim they won't have any new funds to give out til after the second, MAJOR deposit is due?
That is the point though, they had funds and gave them all away, now the first deposit deadline has passed and they claim that *NO* funds have come back to them to redistribute? Are you kidding me? Especially if this is a school that isn't exactly the prettiest girl at the prom, etc.barga24 wrote:they had funds, but gave them all away. nothing fishy about that, just some poor planning

From my own contact with the admissions office my understanding was that the first deposit deadline is April 15th. When I approached them regarding scholarship funds, they offered to put me on a list of students requesting reconsideration and they delayed my first deposit deadline from April 15 to May 2nd in order to make sure they will be able to let me know well before my deposit would be due. I'm not sure what impetus they would have for offering scholarship money to those people who have already deposited.DonnyMost wrote:Anybody find it fishy if the school claims to NOT have funds to redistribute immediately after the first deposit deadline?KraftEZ wrote:I talked to an assistant admissions director yesterday for a good half-hour. I will be there on Friday only. Prob be by myself or w/ my dad if he feels like it. He loves school gatherings.SamSeaborn2016 wrote:gatorlion wrote:Who will be coming to ASD? I believe a TLS rendezvous is in order!
I concur. Has anyone joined the L&C 2013 Facebook page? I suspect a large number of us are on there and someone has organized a get-together after the reception on Thursday night. I am also down for hanging out Friday evening after the school events and Saturday if people want to.
I concur too! I'm definitely down for a get-together Thursday and/or Friday!KraftEZ wrote:I will be there on Friday only. Prob be by myself or w/ my dad if he feels like it. We should come in some recognizable theme to distinguish ourselves and have a little fun. For example I'm assuming on Fri the attire is casual as opposed to business casual on Thu, so we can all wear a green shirt or something along those lines.
Can someone cross-post the Facebook get-together? Some of us still resist Facebook's charms.Tuski wrote:I concur too! I can't make it to that event on Thursday since my flight gets in at 9pm, so would anyone be interested in a Friday event as well?SamSeaborn2016 wrote:Alrighty, the facebook get-together wasn't organized as a public event but since 87 people were invited (I'm guessing every member of the group at the time it was organized) I don't think it will matter if we give out the location. As of now, 29 people are confirmed so it is going to be a wee bit nuts anyway. The plan was to head over after the Thursday night reception.

Dragonfish is a sushi restaurant/bar with a decent happy hour. A lot of people are staying at hotels near the place so that is why it was chosen.
You're missing the point.barga24 wrote:
