I got that too. I am a bit nervous as well, but maybe it can help us!
With three of us are attending, at least it won't be one-on-one with the Dean. I just hope I don't get drunk, fall down, hang from the rafters, wear a lampshade as a hat and have them revoke my admission.

I don't know whether this is the right thread, but I am a current 1L and one of the student tour guides and can answer some questions any of you might have. Obviously, I can't tell you anything about whether you will be admitted beyond what you probably already know.

In with full tuition stipend minus $30k!! (already have a $30k scholarship for grad school they knew about)
I missed a call from them, and am looking forward to speak to the dean and to visit.
Anyone have any experiences with the admissions offices?
Anyone here going to ASW?

Is it relatively easy to find a decent/somwhat affordable duplex or small rental home near the school? I need a place that has a fenced yard and allows dogs. 1 or 2 bedrooms will do.katjust wrote:I don't know whether this is the right thread, but I am a current 1L and one of the student tour guides and can answer some questions any of you might have. Portland is a pretty dog friendly city. Here is a site dedicated to all things dog in Portland. I believe there is a section for dog-friendly housing.

Re: Lewis & Clark 2010
I went to LC for undergrad and lived in PDX for 5+ years. You will most certainly be able to find housing near the school that is OK with dogs. Some of the housing on "the hill" is nicer...and some is pretty trashy.
That said, I would HIGHLY recommend living in SE Portland (the city is divided into N, NE, SE, SW, and NW. The school is in SW, so if you live SE you have to cross one of the many bridges, but the SE is a much cooler place to live. I'd check Sellwood for housing. If, however, you are determined to be within 5-10 minutes of LC, SW is your best bet, but it lacks the charm of the east side.
If you need any feedback about location or anything like that, I'd be happy to answer any questions.
Now I just need my LC acceptance letter to show up...

Re: Lewis & Clark 2010
I live 5 miles from the school. It seems like it might be hard to find something really near the school since the neighborhoods around it are pretty nice (but the person who lived in Portland for 5 years definitely has it over me and probably would know the area better). I have two dogs and live in a two bedroom with my family. There is a small yard, and I do not pay what I consider to be much (And I did not grow up wealthy by any stretch). A lot of students do live nearer than I do, but a lot live farther away also. I have a family, and I like it in Lake Oswego (where I live). However, I am biased against city living.yo! wrote:Is it relatively easy to find a decent/somwhat affordable duplex or small rental home near the school? When I first looked for places there were quite a few options for people with dogs that were not too expensive and were in decent neighborhoods.

I wish they would just tell me something. Have been completed since 11/24. Even if it's just a ding, something would be nice.

This is all great to hear - thanks so much! Looking forward to checking it out myself on ASW! I really think L&C could be the place for me!katjust wrote:I live 5 miles from the school. I just went complete again today, too. (Originally complete 1/13.) Maybe the change really means UR?
Edit: According to the previous page, that means a decision, and we'll get mail soon.

Same thing happened to me. I went complete 1/12 and again 1/20. My application was received in mid November.

J is actually my middle initial, not last initial. But much love for my fellow Bens anyway. However, there's someone else in my year at my undergrad with the same first name, last name and middle initial as myself; that's too much similarity for my tastes.yo! wrote:This thread is a little bit wierd for me.
