Did everyone get instructions on how to create a USM email account? I submitted my application last month and received instructions on how to create an account last week.

I'm a Canadian student and Maine is currently my top choice. Really hoping I get good news soon!

I got in but I won't be going. I really applied because of a romantic love interest that lives in the Northeast but I came to my senses and decided to not base something as important as law school on a woman. Maine seems like a nice quite state. If you can deal with the cold, which you probably can, you could be quite happy there. Good luck!

My online status has changed to Accepted. I have also been accepted to LSU. I live in Florida. I will only be able to go if I am offered some form of Scholarship. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive information from the school once your status changes? My status changed Tuesday.

I was accepted back in December, the only mailing I ever got was a simple letter stating my acceptance. I didn't hear about financial aid until about a week ago. I wasn't offered anything.

+1 no money. When I called to ask about a travel stipend they told me the school had been hit hard by the economy and they have had to cut classes and cut back on other expenses......So I assume they don't have much money to shell out. Although, even with out of state tuition and COL they are still like 15k cheaper than all of the CA schools, one of which I will hopefully attend.

hey everyone! I'm currently writing a profile for the university of maine law school (for TLS), and I'd love to get some feedback about a few things (particularly the facilities of the law school). If you've taken a tour there (or even better, are a student there!), please shoot me a PM. thanks!

My folks (my permanent address peeps) just told me they received a large envelope from Maine. Did anyone else receive one? What did it contain? I don't I think I can wait a week to find out. Thanks.

It's not great, but I don't think it'll matter much to the school. The University of Maine is the only law school in Maine, and they place nearly all of their graduates in Portland/throughout Maine. This is one situation where the rankings really DON'T matter that much. :)

the top 100 could not be more arbitrary (especially in the case of UMaine). outside of T14, rankings more or less dissolve in significance--employment opportunities are based on regional rep from there down. yes there are some schools through the T30 who have some cross-region portability, but best of luck using a UGA/UC Davis/Indiana/Iowa etc etc degree in the entrenched northeast market. after T14/BU/BC there is not a single school that places better in the ME than UMaine (basing this off top portland firm attorney rosters aka the only information of any worth--US news is a joke)

stepping away from my rant, does anyone here attend the school? I'm driving up to Portland to check out the city tomm, heard only great things about the city/school itself

I heard that there are around 200 Maine Law alumni in the DC area...which surprised me. Good to hear as a newly admitted student.
