Re: U.C. Hastings Early Commitment
I'm starting to think something went wrong with my app... I asked to be switched over to EC in October, which they confirmed. But now since I'm not getting the mail I'm thinking that something's messed up. FML

I'm debating whether to be in the Tower or find a studio somewhere nearby. 50/50 at this point.JohnBasedow wrote:In! Best of luck to everyone still in the second round.

In, and thankful.
Only thing - this isn't a binding offer in the sense that I better go ahead and withdraw everywhere else, is it?

Re: U.C. Hastings Early Commitment
From what I recall, it's only binding if you put your money down for the seat deposit. But the deadline for that is Jan. 15th, so if you don't deposit (and subsequently withdraw everywhere else) by then they are free to revoke their offer of admission.chrisokc wrote:In, and thankful.

Seriously? You hoping to get a scholarship? Those numbers + WE... you can do better I would think?weaselology wrote:I applied EC to Hastings as well. 164 / 3.8 and out of school for 3 years working in banking.yonghyunsong wrote:What's your stats?
I applied EC too
Edit: And of course absolutely not disrespect intended, just wondering what the reason behind a binding decision is when you could have easily gotten in regular

Thanks - that's the way I was interpreting it too.SkyRiver wrote:From what I recall, it's only binding if you put your money down for the seat deposit. Re: U.C. Hastings Early Commitment
So I guess the question for many people will be whether to take the Hastings offer or to wait for a decision from a better school, which may or may not come before Jan 15. Tough decision. What do people think?chrisokc wrote:Thanks - that's the way I was interpreting it too.SkyRiver wrote:From what I recall, it's only binding if you put your money down for the seat deposit. That's my most highly-ranked acceptance to date.Sotong wrote:So I guess the question for many people will be whether to take the Hastings offer or to wait for a decision from a better school, which may or may not come before Jan 15. Re: U.C. Hastings Early Commitment
Well, that's the easy part. The hard part is deciding what to do with the higher-ranked schools you applied to and have yet to hear from yet.chrisokc wrote:That's my most highly-ranked acceptance to date.Sotong wrote: So I guess the question for many people will be whether to take the Hastings offer or to wait for a decision from a better school, which may or may not come before Jan 15. Re: U.C. Hastings Early Commitment
No worries, didn't think it was disrespectful. I want to practice/live in San Francisco after graduation, I've visited Hastings and really enjoyed it, and I like schools that are in denser urban areas despite a lack of a traditional campus (went to NYU undergrad). When I took all these into account, Hastings came out as my preferred school. Just my personal preference.lietx3 wrote:Seriously? You hoping to get a scholarship? I thought his thread was going to be really busy. I wonder how much their apps dropped off due to the tuition increase.

Ugh, why does it have to be the one law school I really want to get into? For some reason I just DO NOT want to end up at Loyola, even with 2/3 tuition coverage (assuming I even get that).sdegarmo wrote:savesthedayajb wrote:I thought his thread was going to be really busy. Re: U.C. Hastings Early Commitment
Actually, Hastings was (and still is, I believe) the cheapest of the UC law schools. Berkeley and Davis are definitely more expensive; don't remember UCLA's numbers offhand but when they raised Hastings' tuition they showed us this graph with all the other UCs on it and Hastings was cheapest.sdegarmo wrote:savesthedayajb wrote:I thought his thread was going to be really busy. Why not try Davis/USD?savesthedayajb wrote:Ugh, why does it have to be the one law school I really want to get into?
