Nothing shows pessimism like all hudling up together in an "Optimism" thread and telling each other that it will be alright.

Atleast "Pessimism" thread does not backfire like that.

Ummmmm.....Canada is the best at hockey....soooooo....you're wrong

I am Russian myself and I am definitely a fan of Russian hockey but my Canadian boys will kick Russia's ass in 2010

How can you say that if you're Russian. Sure Canada is really good, but we proved to be better for the past two years. Including beating them in Canada in front of their own crowd. I'm glad to see Russian sports revival. I hope we win next year as well. Rossiya Vpered!

I didn't read the last like 8 posts, but I saw it was about which sport was better.

Rugby > everything else

With all this nasty, twisted, shall I say *negative* energy you're emitting - shall we punt you to the pessimism board? ... get out the lego guillotine?

Yeah, let's just get this back on track.....out at Gtown via e-mail, seems like 12/01ers are all rejected. It's all good though, hoping for some Marquette love tonight to salve the burn. :D I'm not to upset, as even though I'm 0-3, they are all from reaches. I'm EXPECTING in at Marquette, not just hoping, so if I'm out there, then I'll start worrying.

I have to agree... Let's get this back on track.

Trucker, a little birdy told me that you have been seen on the Cornell thread... Good news is on the way... The early action folks that remain are there to stay!!! :D

Philaw, you know Marquette is an "in", c'mon!!!

Leave the negative waves to stay on the 58 pages of the pessimism thread... I'm looking at you, Ragged.

MrsTrucker: Yeah, ya caught me! :P My theory is that Cornell is thinning it's EA pool because they are going to send special "Dancing Santa singing telegrams" to those that are in, and a big fat scholarship too!! :D

Philaw is definitely in!! No doubt!!

...and Ragged just needs a hug! ((((HUG))))

thanks Mrs. Trucker and Jackalope....If experience has taught me anything in my life, it is that even failure leads to the right thing, as long as one continues to work towards something good. I've had more than my fair share of hard times, and It's always turned out well.

I'll probably just go home and do a bunch of drugs.

It's funny how true that philosophy is... I was going through the same thing recently (law school was, even just a few months ago, a distant dream that I thought I would regret missing for the rest of my life) and yet, here we are on the verge of great things!

(I apologize for the Will Ferrell reference in advance, Mrs. Trucker, but you have to remember how Phi opened this thread up for us) "Just keep on... keep on truckin'..." :D

If by 'do' you mean eat, and by 'drugs' you mean pancakes then that sounds awesome!

Helmholtz, it seems like the Pessimism thing hasn't worked out too well for you so far... Maybe you should inject a little sunshine in your cycle by joining the merry crew of the USS Optimism. There's plenty of room... I see you have met our unofficial welcoming committee chaired by Mrs. Trucker.

She can send you cute pics of Tupper Ware... Nobody can resist the unstoppable cuteness factor.

Anyway, just a thought...
