Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one who had the on/off campus error in their letter, I just checked my FAFSFA and I definitely put off campus. Is anyone going to the tour this Friday?

I will not be going until the 26th, but anyone who IS planning on going...a report back would be greatly appreciated :)

I wouldn't worry about it though- that's just the 'initial offer' letter, and basically all it means is "if you come to rutgers, we can offer you something in this ballpark for fed. loans."

Nope, I'm a NJ resident so that's def not the case. I'm thinking a quick call will fix that, though.

Also, is anyone going to the small group meeting this Wednesday? I'll be there!

Just RSVP'd for the tour this Friday. Anyone else? I'm pretty excited as all I've seen of the school was from the street. Rutgers is definitely one of my top schools.

I was reading the earlier posts on this thread, and now I am confused. I'm hoping that someone who knows (instead of someone who has heard stuff through reading this thread) can help me out...

I got a merit scholarship. I am not a NJ resident. If I sign a NJ lease before June, I pay NJ resident tuition for the first year, right? AND I get to keep my scholarship? Or is my scholarship somehow diminished if I obtain NJ resident status?

Thanks!

I went complete on 12/2 and I have not heard anything since then. Its one of my top choices, so I am getting sort of nervous re: long waiting period.

Still waiting on Rutgers Newark (complete 01/12) and Rutgers Camden (complete around 01/06). My status hasn't changed on Rutgers Newark in 7 weeks. I don't even bother with the status checker anymore :( I could really use the in-state tuition. I haven't received a scholarship from any out of state schools (didn't expect to) so right now I'm looking at some serious debt if these two don't come through.

Hey, so does anyone know how competitive placement in clinics are? Does every student have a legitimate chance to enroll in the clinic of their choice, or is there cutthroat competition for some?

Hey guys, I went to the small group meeting yesterday. It was really great, and definitely made Rutgers a strong contender for me. If you have the chance to go, definitely do. Anyway, regarding the financial aid package... if you marked that you will NOT be living on campus, but they had the line about assuming you'll be living on campus, don't worry about it. Apparently it's just a generic part of the letter that goes out to everyone, and when you get the final offer, it will be corrected.

For those who have been to campus, what do you think of the building/library? I actually went to an admitted student event a few weeks back but kind of just rushed out after the talk to beat traffic, and didn't even look at the library. Any comments might make it unnecessary to go back and look.

Got my aid award today. Even without a scholly (which I'm going to try to lobby for with my new LSAT score), I wouldn't have to take out private loans  .

I really liked the building. It's bright and very open. I didn't get a chance to see everything, including the library, because the small group meeting didn't include a tour, and I had to leave as soon as it was over. I'm planning on checking it out during the open house, though.

Thanks for posting that link, Burger. I hope to make a visit soon, but it's so hard with my work schedule.

Jerzee & Danger, it stinks you've been waiting so long! I don't use the status checker too much anymore either. It never changes anyway....

Here's to hoping that those of us still waiting hear something soon!

I don't recall if this has been mentioned here before, but the status checker really never changes. None of my classmates that I spoke with about status checkers ever saw it go to accepted. You just get an e-mail. So, you're wasting your time with the status checker.

Just got into Camden (3/3) (complete 2/10?). However, I live 25 minutes from Newark but have not heard anything from them. I really want them to just let me know!! If I am fortunate to get a scholarship from RU-N I would not see a reason to move to Camden.

Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!

i'm back to spread more hoboken love! if you're young and like to have fun on the weekends it is a GREAT place to live ... tons of bars, restaurants, etc! live by the path and its a decently easy commute ... but you'll need roommates as it is on the pricey side. currently sharing a two br and paying $900 a month (each) ... if you're willing to live in something a bit older / smaller and split with more than 2 bedrooms, that price could probably go down to around $700 pp.

Probably in the range of 15-25 minutes or so. Very accessible by train. It's an awesome place to live if you are willling to spend the $$$ and there is a lot of stuff to do.

Anyway, I'm heading over to the session tonight. Looking forward to it :).

Completed the application the first week of February...still NOTHING! 153 LSAT, 3.81 GPA, out-of-state. You think I have any chance? :?
