Um, I'm travelling and my uncle's receiving all my mail, but according to him I was just dinged.

171 3.2/3.8

Isn't the whole idea of YP to WL people and see if they send a LOCI? I put a lot of work into the American application too, and it was one of only two schools I applied to where I was supposedly an auto-admit. So glad I've already been accepted to Minnesota or I would be freaking out right now. Still feeling pretty weird about it though. :?

I'm getting my mail forwarded from my school address to my home address, and the postal service is doing their best to screw it up as much as possible. I'm still waiting for my decision (went decision made on 1/7), but on LSN every single person who got a decision that day has been dinged. Has anyone from 1/7 NOT gotten rejected? Seems like a pretty severe bloodbath from American...

American is just too, too weird. I thought YP = WL as well. At 169/3.6ish, I had a feeling I was headed for a similar fate, so I sent in my withdrawal tonight. Felt weird/sad about it, but there just wasn't a chance of me attending (or even getting in, apparently!)

Fired five times in 10 years? To be brutally honest, it really does not inspire confidence.

Well yeah, I was a total fuckup when I was fired from all those menial jobs ten years ago. I also had a sub 2.0 gpa during that time. But then I held down those two jobs for years at a time, went back to school and got a 3.8 from my degree-granting school. I was more worried about the tone than the content, but I could be off base.

Does anyone know why American why my complete date would have changed twice? I went complete on 1/4 and now it says Complete as of 1/13.

They claim that it is a system update...it happens to a lot of people actually. I went complete on 12/11 and then again on 12/22. Truthfully, I think the first complete means that they received your electronic application, and the second complete means that the paper version from LSAC has arrived. The same kind of "double" complete happened to me at GTown

Dear American,

I have been complete since November (submitted in October) with zero movement since. I am officially giving you the cold shoulder.

Sincerely,

Katerina

P.S. Why don't you love me?

Wouldn't you go to GW over American anyway?

I'm poor and I was really hoping for some solid merit aid (hard to come by when you're a splitter like me). Plus I did a summer session for law at American in college and really liked the school.

Application received 11/13. Complete on 12/15.

I am applying to one of their dual degree programs and go a letter in the mail yesterday (dated Jan. 4) informing me that I had been accepted into the Masters half of the program-- but with no word at all from the law school-- an still nothing new on my status.

What can you make of this?

I'll trade you my spot at American for yours at GW then. Or maybe BC. Deal?

I know several joint programs, like Northwestern's, tend to fully accept or completely reject the applicant. I don't know about American, but hopefully it's the same there. Good luck!

Nothing can be made of it. They are entirely different admissions processes handled by different departments, committees, rules, and procedures. Acceptance or rejection in one program won't indicate the decision of the other.

I'll trade you GW for American with $$ but I'm never giving up BC... unless you've got a GULC hidden up your sleeve.

I think you're in. How long has your app been complete? I've been waiting for a decision since 12/15 and I could really use some good news.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
