I'm already in a two other much higher ranked schools (still waiting on $$ info though). In agreement with an earlier poster, something about Waco scares me, and that is coming from someone from SC. Anyone willing to assuage my fears?

Very boring little town. [strike]Somewhat separated by race (blacks on one side of town, whites on the other). Pretty campus. Nothing to do, but that may be a positive for a law student. Cheap living. Very "country" in a lot of ways. Close proximity to Austin and Dallas, which is good.

That's not entirely true. Waco is not as bad as people make it out to be. There are plenty of things to do, plenty of bars to go to. Good food, kind people. Yes, there is a "rough" part of town, but there are also nice areas too, like around the lake. A city is what you make it out to be.

So I applied on 1/31 and received an email of completion on Feb 2. I looked in the mail today and got a admissions catalog from Baylor with a signed letter of the admissions lady telling me thanks for the interest in Baylor, why you should choose Baylor, etc....I'm just curious, because they sent it out after my application was complete. Did anyone else get one of these? It seems pretty routinely sent out, but who knows.

I lived here for 4 years doing undergrad. Whenever I came back from X-mas break and drove down La Salle that was the final straw for Baylor Law School/Waco. I can't do another three years here.

The same thing happened to me! I thought it was a bit odd as well. Still haven't heard any more news.

Same for me as well. I'm very socially active and find no problem having a good time. I'm not saying that everyone loves it, but I am saying that people make Waco out to be worse than it really is. I understand some people don't like it and "can't wait to get out of here", but it's definitely better than a lot of other college towns that some of my friends live in. I have no problem with it at all.

To the people who have been offered full scholarships, are there stipulations attached? Like top 30% or is just stay in good standing?

2.5 GPA, which they say is roughly top 2/3rds of the class. However, if you look at the grade breakdowns for the current class, that is about right for the first year, but for 2 and 3L it looks like a 2.5 would put you even lower in the class. Not bad compared to some other schools strict requirements.

He was probably YP'ed! So I wouldn't worry too much.

What's YP'ed? Also was it a big packet in the mail or just an envelope. My friend just got an envelope with his acceptance.

Yield Protection. Schools will sometimes waitlist (or in some small cases, reject) applicants who have stats much higher than their 75 percentile because they assume that they will not actually enroll if they are accepted. When this happens, it alters their yield.

Decision made March 9th as well. No email or anything. It never went "in review" just jumped from complete to DM.

Good luck to all! Hope March 9th was a "yes" batch!

I'm 25 /25 percentile. I went letter mailed on 3/9 we'll see how things go. For those admitted did status checker ever say congrats or did u get an email or anything?

You don't think that the batch of letters they sent out yesterday are all acceptances or all rejections right?

Originally when I first found out (back in November I believe), it was via status checker ("Congratulations! You've been admitted!"). Now it just says a decision was mailed.

I'm guessing it's not good when I checked my status today, after it going decision mailed on 3/9, now saying spring 2011 instead of just fall2010 on the green toolbar thing, giving me the option to apply for spring 2011 i guess. Well im sure that means I got rejected. :/
