Good to see some movement. Is 12/15 when you went complete?

Thanks for the info.
yep. seems like they're getting around to the mid-december complete crowd...
other people in review 2/3, in-state or out? I'm out. Curious how they're grouping these.
Out of state (CA resident)

I just started to read these forums, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one obsessively making the status check rounds.

After being "Ready for Review" since 12/17, my status is finally "In Review," as of 02/03, sometime after 2:00 PM PT (when I left for work). I sent it in 11/26. Here's to hoping the review doesn't take as long as every other UW status change...

Also, if anyone's interested, I'm in-state with a 3.78/165.

i applied and have been in review since 12/4. nothing has changed as of yet. I like what I have read about this school, but am a little ambivalent about leaving the east coast.

I was recently put in review myself....U-Dub is my top choice as I love Seattle (currently in Chicago).

I thought I had an outside shot with a 3.78/161...but even Seattle U put me on the waitlist...so I am not so sure anymore.

I go to U Washington for undergrad. . . . In at the law school, but probably going elsewhere. Just wanted to say that if anyone has any questions about UW as a whole or Seattle in general, I'd be happy to give it a shot. I've been in the law building a bit, so I could probably answer any questions about the facility, but not the academics.

Any advice on places to live?
For the general person I suppose.
But also for someone me, I don't drink, sleep a lot, and like to run, so near Green Lake/Burke Gilman I guess. I also hate driving, so I'm thinking Wallingford, but that areas not that cheap (by looking at real estate prices, haven't look for apartments yet).

If you don't want to go out a lot, and don't mind a long bus commute, West Seattle is amazingly beautiful and cheap. Green Lake is also great, but more expensive, and Wallingford is fun but also not on the cheap side.

Cool. Yeah, when I said I hate driving, I meant commuting in general. I always hated commuting into Seattle from the East Side as a kid. I play Ultimate Frisbee in Magnuson Park on Wednesdays, and I thought Laurelhurst was supposed to be super nice, but it doesn't look all that great to be. Must be mostly the houses on the lake.

Woop! Eastside!

Okay, with that passed...
Houses on the lake will always be awesome. Commute wise, you could probably get cheaper housing going North, then, and U-District housing isn't all that expensive. When I was looking into moving back to Seattle a few years ago, Wallingford and Freemont both seemed overpriced for what they offered, but there were craigslist postings for places on Alki for around $800 a month.

Do you bike? Are you willing to take a 15 to 20 minute bus commute? A little bit of commuting would open up a whole lot of cheaper alternatives, especially if you're not concerned with being in a happening neighborhood.

Also, every once in awhile, houseboats on Elliot Bay will come up for rent, which are awesome, near the U and not too expensive.

There are usually lots of decent, cheap housing to be found in the U-district. In my opinion, the U-district is getting dirtier ever year, and I like to have a little distance from it. If you don't mind a short commute, I suggest anyone look at Ballard as well, particularly if you like bar nightlife. Wallingford is pretty nice, but not as cheap as U-District and Ballard in general. For anyone coming out of state and tempted to look at the eastside, I really recommend against it . . . the commute is awful, not as bad if you take Metro, but if you plan on driving you'll want to kill yourself, and the eastside is boring.

My status checker updated yesterday to 2/5 after being at 12/4 forever. Hopefully it is a sign that something is coming soon.

I bet that is a YP waitlist. If you do want to go send them a LOCI, I bet you would be in. But I think you do have a decent shot at UW.

You never moved to "ready for review"? I wouldn't say worried, but you should call and ask for sure.

So many people getting their decisions soon, I'm jealous and excited at the same time.

UW is the last school I'm nervously waiting for. I didn't go complete until post-Christmas though, so this ought to take a while :(
