not sure if I should wear a tie or not
hey so... if someone would take a picture of the general dress code, i would really appreciate it.
i found my one pair of khakis is pretty tattered and I dont own any slacks.
im gonna have to go buy a pair of pants, so it would be a big help to see what i should be looking for

I didn't plan on it, but you have me second guessing myself. I probably still won't. Probably loafers, khaki pants and a button down shirt (top button undone).sufjan wrote:so what are you guys wearing tomorrow?

Yes tie lol, I think the suit would look weird without one.

Seersucker suit. To Southerners you'll stand out because it's the wrong season for a gentleman to wear it, for everyone else you'll be that guy in the weird suit that they think you got at the Salvation Army. It's a win-win.eye wrote:I don't want to stand out...wait...I do want to stand out.sufjan wrote:tie or no tie?eye wrote:I don't have any khakis, might just go with a suit.

If you have a tie, I'd wear it. Couldn't hurt! You can always take it off if you feel it's too dressy.sufjan wrote:tie or no tie?eye wrote:I don't have any khakis, might just go with a suit.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Who cares what others wear?
Just use common sense. If you're comfortable with a suit, go for it. You'll be wearing a tie five days a week until you die from a premature stroke at age 53 anyway, might as well start now.
If you're more confident in pants and a sweater or dress shirt, power to ya. Dress jeans with smart shoes and a nice shirt would even be fine I'm sure. There's always the token hipster jackass who shows up with the nasty beard, power of the wolves tee shirt and vintage chuck taylors who wins the "most dressed down" award, so you're not going to stand out in a negative light if you make even a little effort.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I applied 1/18 and have received the status checker, but my application still hasn't gone complete...did it take this long for any others?
and by complete i mean they have only received my electronic app...not the paper one, so it's not ready for review yet

Can't wait to hear how the Scholars Open House went today. I'm looking forward to the one next week.
As for what I'm wearing, I'm just going to wear a nice pair of pants and a nice dress shirt. I think it's a good medium, not too dressy but not too casual.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Remember though, they said that you would still be considered for a Fletcher Scholarship as long as you attend one of the sessions (regular Open House or Scholars Open House) before March 5th. So, even though the Scholars Open House is already filled, you can still go to one of the regular Open House ASDs and be considered.missvik218 wrote:Are people from the second round of awarded scholarships invited to "Scholars Day" or whatever it's called?! Re: Wake Forest 2010
Wow, went application complete yesterday and didn't even notice...how did that happen? I think I've checked status checkers so often I've stopped reading anything that doesn't have the words 'decision' or 'congratulations' in them. I'm going to be lazy and not look back through the thread...can we expect notification by e-mail or must we wait for snail mail?
Edit: Nevermind! IN via e-mail!
