Congrats to all those that have received scholarships. Does anyone know when the next round of admissions decisions is supposed to come out? Did anyone get a decision on Friday of last week?Threepeat wrote:I am a Jan. 15 admit, and my status is now Admitted Scholar. Congrats everyone! There have only been 2 rounds of acceptances thus far: 12/18 & 1/15JayCole wrote:Congrats to all those that have received scholarships. Where'd you see this? I only see people on here reporting that their status checker changed to "Committee Review" or "Administrative Review". I don't see anyone reporting acceptances here for 1/20, nor on LSN.married0L wrote:and 1/20

Are you referring to complete date or decision date?
I went complete on 1/15 and decision on 1/20.

I was talking about who received an acceptance. I only saw people for 12/18 & 1/15, and none for 1/20. Sorry if I missed it.married0L wrote:Are you referring to complete date or decision date?

Edit: Looking back at your posts wanting to correct myself if I was wrong and missed your acceptance, I found that you posted that you were accepted 1/15 and went complete 1/7. No big deal though. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't overlooked it and fix my post if I had.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I emailed them regarding airports, hotels, transportation, etc. for the Feb 5 scholar day. Although i didn't mention 'stipend', i did mention that I am trying to limit costs.
Besides the relevant info regarding transportation and lodging, they told me they would reimburse $200 if i eventually choose to enroll at wake.
hth anyone/someone

Tyler,
No big deal. I must have looked at the wrong school on my Excel spreadsheet.

No problem. I thought I just overlooked something. I wouldn't have mentioned it except I didn't want to confuse others.married0L wrote:Tyler,

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Hi everyone! I will be attending the Feb 5th Scholar Day. I am bringing both my mom and boyfriend (I need serious objective help deciding between Wake and UGA). The registration website let me register 3 people including myself. Anyways, I hope to see many of you there! I've lived in NC my entire life but have never visited Winston Salem (with the exception of driving by on the I40!).

WOOOT!
JUST CHANGED TO ADMITTED SCHOLAR. Been at work all day.. thinking about it all day... finally found out!
I am correct in saying that every one from first round who got admitted scholar got offered a scholarship?
Thats my impression and I'm about to pee my pants.
I'd much rather go to wake>georgia, and if they can pull through with money, then they are pretty much my first choice!

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Anyone else just get a scholarship email from Wake? Mine states that I have been awarded $28000 renewable each year with a position top half of the class. This certainly puts Wake into consideration for me....
Edit, read it wrong and it is actually top 2/3rds of the class...even better haha

The top 2/3rds thing is so great. Think it would help to make the environment a lot less competitive, compared to other schools that are top 50% or top 33%.

Same! Except for the withdrawing part, this makes Wake a lot more attractive to me.DoctorNick189 wrote:Just got the e-mail. Offered $20k, but will probably withdraw my acceptance soon.
Anyone else think that they've grossly over estimated COL expenses on the website?! $19,100 annually seems like A LOT to me for Winston Salem.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Right now (though I'm nowhere close to being done with decisions) I'm weighing this offer of 28K from Wake with the Graduate Fellowship + an extra 3K from W&M...Wake would probably be slightly cheaper overall, but does it place well enough in DC (especially compared with W&M as well as W&L and GMU which I have yet to receive scholarship offers from) to merit choosing it over those schools (I am pretty sure that I don't want to work in North Carolina, though that is nothing against the state)... what does everyone think?

TLS has $8500 for room and board at Winston Salemmissvik218 wrote:Same! Except for the withdrawing part, this makes Wake a lot more attractive to me.DoctorNick189 wrote:Just got the e-mail. Offered $20k, but will probably withdraw my acceptance soon.

19,000 would put COL at the same as Los Angeles, which is pretty much impossible for a small city in north carolina to accomplish

NDIrish, I'm pretty sure WM>wake for d.c.
In fact, if I'm not mistaken, William and Mary feeds into the D.C. market.
