lol, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic or a smart@ss. DePaul's issue with the dean is the only reason I can think of for such a drastic drop.Kchuck wrote:--LinkRemoved--nitr0x99 wrote:I think it has to do with them not having a real dean.m1stert1m wrote:Why do you think they dropped so far?

Withdrawing with 8k/year scholly.
I did attend the 4/10 ASD, which helped me decide that the school was not for me. I was impressed, though, with the commitment of both alumni and current students to the school -- definitely a plus for people who know they are going to stay in Chicago.

Will be withdrawing my application and $20k/yearly as soon as I get the official letter from Fordham, who just called. Hope it goes to one of you!

Waitlisted as well. Has anyone been pulled from their waitlist yet?

Re: DePaul Law School 2013
Right now they are doing a thing called "priority consideration." They are reviewing the late submitters with excellent GPA and LSATs first. It's basically an acceptance in all but name only. I just got an email offering without offering 15-20k a year. Fortunately for you guys that is nowhere near what Kent is offering, thus I am withdrawing. Good luck!rockababy123 wrote:Waitlisted as well. Has anyone been pulled from their waitlist yet?

Anybody looking at apartments in Chicago right now? Any suggestions on where to look, like where is a good area to live and where other 1Ls will be living?

I don't plan on looking for apartments until the end of June/start of July, but I would also be interested in what other people are finding.OLEball1 wrote:Anybody looking at apartments in Chicago right now? I see myself living a bit further from the school as long as I can find a place close to a train station. Something reasonably priced that would allow my dog <---(see tar) and have some street (or cheap) parking. I don't know the city that well, but I figure that I am probably going to be a 30-45min train ride away from the law school by the time I that reasonably priced place. Not that I wouldn't like to be right downtown, but everything seemed to be out of my price range after a brief look on craigslist.
If anyone has any ideas of what areas I should be checking out, let me know! Also, I wouldn't be opposed to a roommate. Two bedroom places seem to be a better value and would let us be closer to school. Not too picky (guy/girl, non-traditional/just out of undergrad, brewers/cubs fan, etc...). Only requirements are that you are not the world's biggest slob and you like my dog. Let me know if that sounds like you and we can chat.

If I was you, I would live somewhere that is close to the red-line, you can take that train directly to DePaul's Law School. Or live close to Marine Drive where you have access to express buses that will get you downtown pretty quick.

I was accepted to the Part-Time Evening program off the wait list, but still waiting to hear on full time. Strongly considering attending either way. I'm playing the waiting game on a few other schools right now -my options are limited to John Marshall (10k yr scholly), Loyola Part-time (waitlist full time as well), Kent (waitlist) and MSU.

I just got pulled off the waitlist for full-time. I'm waiting to see their financial aid package though before committing.

Re: DePaul Law School 2013
I was accepted off the waitlist for FT with 15k/year last week. I wish I had a chance to visit before the seat deposit is due this week, but do not. I'll be flying to Chicago late next week to check out Kent and DePaul and make a decision between the two. I never thought the hardest part of applying to law school would be deciding where to attend
Also, does anyone know of a way to pay the seat deposit online? I don't feel comfortable snail mailing my credit card info but the acceptance letter only discussed mailing the envelope with payment info.

I paid over the phone. Just call the admissions office.roofles wrote:Also, does anyone know of a way to pay the seat deposit online? I don't feel comfortable snail mailing my credit card info but the acceptance letter only discussed mailing the envelope with payment info.
I just officially withdrew, so I hope my 20k/year goes to someone here!

Re: DePaul Law School 2013
I'm also in with $20K, specifically to CIPLIT. I submitted on the final deadline date. In late April, I noticed that my application was just sitting there marked as received but not processed. I checked everything again and again and realized I accidentally marked admission term of Spring 2010 instead of Fall 2010
So I called and they changed it. April 28th, it was marked as "processing". April 30th it was marked as "decision reached". I assumed it was quickly rejected because it was so late. But I was wrong! 164/3.3, with Electrical and Computer Engineering undergrad degrees, 10 years of work experience, FWIW.
Now, I am looking for a place to live in Chicago. Interested in other people's experiences with this. I'm coming from NC, and I've only visited Chicago a handful of times.

Re: DePaul Law School 2013
Hi Everyone,
I currently live in Chicago and plan on moving up to Wisconsin for law school. I have a fully furnished apartment and I'm looking to sell my couches, dinning room table and chairs, coffee table and tv stand. They were all bought from Ikea less then a year ago.
PM me if you're interested, I certainly will give a fellow TLSer a GREAT deal!
