Re: Stetson 2010
Just checked mail. Nothing yet. I called the school earlier and they said if it was decided on 11/23, than it most likely went out early this week.
I live in Orlando so figure I would get the letter within 3-4 days of actually being mailed

Re: Stetson 2010
Well, the original e-mail that provided us with the status checker info stated that once a decision was made, it would go from "Application complete; under review" to "Decision was mailed on ___"
So... that's just what I'm assuming. I figured since they made those decisions on the 23rd before the office closed for the holidays that they would send them out some time this week. I believe someone else on this thread mentioned earlier that they called the office and those letters were supposed to be mailed out on Tues/Wed. Who knows?

In the original status checker e-mail they said a decision letter will be mailed 4-6 days after a decision is made. I'm sure this was thrown off slightly by the holiday.

Re: Stetson 2010
emailed today to find out, and they said it was sent out today. Mine also said Decision made 11/23/09. She also nicely added that she thought I would be happy, so hopefully she doesn't think that rejection would make me happy. Good luck everyone!

Stetson. ...why does that name remind me of Old Spice or cowboy boots or something? I've heard that name before and I can't remember where.

Re: Stetson 2010
I gotta admit, Stetson as the name of a law school does sound really tacky. I guess it is just by name association. Whenever I hear Chapman I think of the white trash Chapman family on Dog the Bounty Hunter.biv0ns wrote:It's also cowboy-themed cologne haha. Stetson and Stetson Black. My grandpa wears it

The lady I exchanged emails with said that if you do not receive the letter 10-12 days after Decision Made, to call and have another letter sent.

Date on letter is 11/30. Threw out the envelope, sorry. 2.8 GPA, mid 150's LSAT. I knew it was a reach, but whatever. Everything happens for a reason, right? lol

Re: Stetson 2010
Heffdog, sorry to hear about your ding. Looking at LSN, the first four entries seem to show a more stringent year than in 2008. Two people who last year fit in the accept 'range' were waitlisted, and someone with a 163 LSAT was rejected, albeit with a lower GPA. I personally have a pretty low GPA too with some good softs, and only a 160 LSAT, I'm a little nervous to check the mail now that I see decisions are arriving and not too many accepts have been posted here or on LSN.

Re: Stetson 2010
I'm with lawlec. I would assume a 160 would be in, but my low GPA might get me waitlisted. Nothing in the mail today though...
ETS: I can't believe a 163 got dinged (even with a 2.3)

Yes, from a sheer numbers standpoint, they definately seem more selective than in the past.SpencerPratt wrote:I'm with lawlec. I would assume a 160 would be in, but my low GPA might get me waitlisted. Nothing in the mail today though...

Of course this could just be the result of their index number equation. While it is highly speculative, I wouldn't be suprised to find that Stetson has a preference for a high GPA. At first glance that seems to be the case with LSAT and GPA 75th percentile being 157 and 3.6 respectively.

Wow, I just cannot get a read on Stetson this cycle! Spencerpratt, sorry to hear of your ding! I've been looking at the applicants and graph on LSN at psyco pace and people with the same numbers, granted different softs are getting different decisions, accept v. rejected. Guess it is just going to be a crazy and rough cycle!
