Cold morning today in Boulder, huh?
It actually feels MUCH MUCH MUCH warmer than yesterday. Last night was around 0, but this morning felt like it was at least 10*. Yesterday morning was -8* or something.

Yeah, -10 up in the mountains this morning. Should be some more snow on the way this weekend though.

Also, just want to say good luck to any applicants waiting. I'm glad we're bringing this thread back to life after it seemed to be dead for a couple weeks.
It is VERY easy to claim in state residency. You have to carefully follow the steps (ie. getting CO drivers license, CO car reg, register to vote in CO, lease/own for 12 months) but if you do then you are pretty much guaranteed to be classified as in-state. I went through the residency process for undergrad and it was much more intense and complicated than this. I haven't heard of anyone (that follows the steps) who has been denied residency after the 1st year.

P.S. I am a 1L at CU Law and am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I am also more than willing to show you around Boulder and/or meet for coffee or drinks when you visit to give you the "unofficial" tour

I'm kind of surprised because my numbers aren't the most stellar, but I do have a very interesting story. Since I was only applying to two schools and was applying ED to CU, my personal statement was written specifically for them. I'm a Boulder resident, LSAT 166, LSDAS GPA 3.37, Degree GPA 3.69.

I am sooooooooo happy! And relieved, also. And super excited.
Congrats!!!

I don't know which they looked at, but I will tell you that my personal statement and resume may have been the part of my application that got me in, much moreso than my numbers. Someone with better numbers than me got deferred.

It is all but guaranteed. Every single person I know who started out-of-state got in-state for their second year (including me).

The main things you need to do: register your car, get a CO drivers license, and register to vote.

No ED for me :-(

Took the December LSAT over here, so I'm hoping CU will give me another look here soon.

In other news, I withdrew my application from DU yesterday!

Thanks for helping out those of us with apps in at DU, although I'd rather end up in Boulder with you!

No worries! If you end up there, DU won't be a bad gig, I don't think. Everyone I've spoken seems happy with their experiences there, and it's a beautiful campus and a good school. Sounds like graduates have good job prospects in the Denver market as well.

Definately. I grew up only a few blocks from the campus so I would be at home there, it's the price tag that hurts.

I've started a Colorado Class of 2013 thread here:

It's currently a little...er... stark, so feel free to post up!

So now that the ED decisions have been sent out (congrats to those who got in), they going to start looking at the RDs? I at least got a consolation prize to fall back on today: $$ at DU. I hope that's a good sign for CU, but maybe I'm just being optimistic.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

+1. I really hope so. I keep telling myself that those were the ED applicants and I need to calm down and be patient but it isn't working...

Received my acceptance on 12/12.

Applied ED with 164/3.5. I'm out of state.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
