Really? Are you sure that you haven't gotten the schools backwards?Peter North wrote:
Also, from what I understand, H takes a way more holistic approach than Y, and moreso than S, where Y/S gives more credence to quantitative factors such as LSAT score, GPA, and also to some extent UG school quality, legacy admits, etc. stuff that you wouldn't find prevalent amongst applicants from state schools and also among minority/URM folks.

+ 1 If anything, I'd say S then H take the most holistic approach. Y's the biggest snob with #s.managamy wrote:Really? Are you sure that you haven't gotten the schools backwards?Peter North wrote:

It is so rare to see managamy not have the TCR. Guess this won't be one of those times either.

Now my head is really scrambled. I thought that we had definitively established that Y > S > H in terms of holistic evaluation and importance awarded to softs. Thank goodness that I no longer have a horse in any of these races.fidesverita wrote:+ 1 If anything, I'd say S then H take the most holistic approach. Definitely Y>S>H. And for the record, 5 times 190 is 950. Which is much larger than the class size at Harvard. That's Cooley numbers.

Re: In at Harvard!
Hey guys, sorry for another "International" question but I am wondering if we get any type of health insurance while being Harvard students. If we do, is it good enough or would I be wise to purchase additional coverage.
Being from Canada I am completely ingorant to the world of health insurance and could use some quick advice.
Thanks
edit for spell fail.

Re: In at Harvard!
I've always thought that Stanford will accept some applicants that neither Y or H will take in order to increase their yield & due to their different emphasis in the admissions process. Thus they like to go for say the 3.98, 170 with work experience that Harvard or Yale might not, thus making it almost certain that those type of people will attend. Not positive on this of course.. but it seems that cross-admits between H and S choose H more often. (Doesn't H have higher yield even with the huge class?)dutchstriker wrote:Definitely Y>S>H. Anyways what are your guys thoughts?
EDIT: I meant yield for cross admits between H & S, not H & Y.. yeah Yale has the highest yield by far.. but Harvard's is surprisingly high for such a large class
