I thought it was an amazing experience and enjoyed every bit of it!

P.S. The food was so good. :p

I thought the presentation at Warner Brothers was excellent: the two lawyers did a great job of answering the question "What does an in-house entertainment lawyer do?"

The best part of the day was getting to meet the people that I'll be working and playing with for the next three years. Now I can't wait to start! Also can't wait for our first bar review.... :)
I'm jealous, I wanted to go, but with the second deposit, rent, and my work schedule, I couldn't attend.

I've given up on the wait-list. If SW throws an admissions offer my way, then I'll reconsider; however, I won't stress if they don't throw anything.
Where are you deposited at... or are you reconsidering law all together?

Full deposit at Whittier. :| Still going to law school.

Still in review at Chapman, which means wait-listed.

156 UG 3.6, but 3.2 through LSAC.
Not sure if I got the mythical URM bump, but I was wait-listed at USC.

Thanks joonhp.

I feel like the finale is coming up. It could end up only two ways:

1)If I get in:
1st job, 2nd job and waiting all collide in one mega explosion ending the terrible nightmare followed by extreme intoxication.

2)If I don't get in:
Extreme intoxication

Spoke to someone in the admissions office

Usually takes 6-10 weeks from in review date to hear something so those of us that haven't heard anything will be getting an answer very soon... probably in a couple 0f weeks (Ive been in review since 4-21)

Good luck to everyone thats waiting or on the waiting list...

I sent a LOCI in addition to the essays. I applied way back in September so I hope they realize I'm being serious when I say they are my number one choice.

Somewhat new to the forum. New to posting…...

Made a last-minute decision to apply, and turned in my application to for the PT night program at Southwestern close to the 4/1 deadline. Received my waitlist letter on 5/6. My waitlist form and additional essays show as having been received on 5/14. Emailed a LOCI around 5/20 and receipt was acknowledged same day……Called admissions 3 weeks ago and was told that they would probably start pulling from the waitlist "in the next couple of weeks." I'm assuming those who were offered spots out-right had until June 1 to secure their spot??

Anyone on the waitlist and still waiting to hear back??? Has anyone on the waitlist gotten a decision yet??

As this is my only shot for Fall 2010, and because I’d really like to attend SW, I’m stressing over this whole waitlist thing. Words of wisdom regarding this process, and any general inside info on SW would be greatly appreciated.

Received my registration packet this morning.

Any advice (especially from current students) on which LAWS track to choose/avoid?

Been waiting since Feb. Turned in an LOCI and the two optional essays. I'm not holding my breath on the wait-list.

I suggest the negotiation track if you are interested in entertainment. Trial if you're interested in criminal or civil litigation. Appellate if you have no idea (appellate is the traditional way of learning legal writing). One thing to keep in mind is that only folks in appellate can compete in the annual moot court competition. Folks in the other two tracks can compete in each others' competitions (Trial or Negotiation). A person can only compete in only one competition. People who do well in a competition may be invited to interview for all three honors programs (including moot court for someone who didn't do the moot court competition). Appellate people can participate in any of the three competitions (but only one).

Could you elucidate this?

You win trial competition. You interview for both trial ad honors and moot court honors. Invitation to interview from moot court is discretionary based on your performance in the trial ad competition.

Hey, does anyone know how easy it is to switch from part time to full time? I thought I read somewhere its pretty easy to do but I'm not sure. I'm just debating if I should try to get in to the part time program and then transfer to full time after 1L, I'm currently on the wait list for full time.

I think I posted about this earlier on the thread. I was told (when debating P/T)that you can apply to transfer to trad. day after the first year in P/T with approval from the Dean of Students based upon your performance at that time. Not necessarily guaranteed, but obviously not unlikely either. I do believe, however, that you would need to complete summer school that year in order to have covered the required # of units to transfer into the second year fully caught up.

I'll be doing Appellate.

And why is their health insurance so expensive?
