Interesting...

You do know that law school is all about taking exams, right?

So the only prep you did was TM?

Wow! If you would've had more prep and chose a holistic approach, your score would've been higher.

Doesn't LEEWS help with law school exams?

Looks like a scam to me.

Arrow and some other TLS posters who have done very well swear by LEEWS as a fundamental basis for their success . Others, not so much. It all ends up depending on what kinds of tests the professors you end up giving. If they lean heavily toward issue spotting hypo's, LEEWS is geared perfectly towards these. If not, no real value.

So just like everything else in law school, it's a crap-shoot. I got a perfect set of used CD's and the primer for $70. That along with "Getting to Maybe" and Delaney's "Learning Legal Reasoning - Briefing, Analysis, and Theory" will be it for me in regards to my summer prep.

Would you recommend those books? I would like to supplement the knowledge I gain from the Summer Academy with some more reading.

Southwestern cannot possible move up in any ranking system allowing somebody with a 147 and a 3.4 to get in. That means to get a median of 3.5, 157 they need a student with a 3.6 167 to counterbalance (though I am sure they would have to make it up by getting several students who more slightly above the median).

Everybody takes time to write a good personal statement. I went to UCSB, the median GPA was a 3.2. a 3.4 wasn't a good student, it was somebody who rarely came to class and went downtown three times a week to get wasted.

Um, SW only needs one person above the LSAT median to counterbalance a 147 (it could be 120 and nothing would change). Do you know the difference between a mean and a median number? I'm horrible at math, but at least I know what a median is. The whole point of medians is that extremes at either end of the spectrum have less impact.

If he doesn't recommend them, I will. However, I'm a 0L. I have those books ready to read as soon as I finish reading other material. Although everything you read now may not be utilized in the future, it really doesn't hurt if you read the above named books.

Well, we really don't know if the 3.4 is an UGPA or a GPA processed through LSAC. Secondly, you made a rather long leap in logic by generalizing with deductive certainty about the type of person that receives a 3.4.

Just saying...

Here is a link to outlines on the first-year courses.
I'm reading these outlines with other material to incorporate perspectives into my readings.

Not sure whether the defect here is the undergraduate institution, general inability of law school hopefuls to do math, or just singular stupidity.

Perspective -- seeing what is not readily available.

Still waiting for SW.

I sent in a loci prior to the second waitlist update form. What are your thoughts about sending another loci? What other materials should I send in to better my chances?

Yet again, wait until after June 1st 2nd deposit deadline -- at least until the following Monday for some WL movement!

If you have already stated promise of your guaranteed attendance if pulled from the waitlist, I can't see the point of another LOCI, unless there's something incredible to reveal. Other than that, an additional LOR from someone respectable would hardly hurt your file. Like Danteshek, I predict a lot of movement from the SW waitlist.
