But prestige does matter for certain employment such as biglaw or academia. It would be silly to say that school doesn't matter. Someone who is capable of placing in the top 5% at UCLA or Loyola will definitely have more doors open than top 5% at SW.
Obviously, if you want academia you should go to Yale. UCLA is not going to cut it, much less Southwestern. For Biglaw, you need to be in the top 10 percent, preferably with a strong resume.
