My file has been "complete & in review" since 3/26. If I am going to relocate my a$$ 2,000 miles away, I'd kind of like to know sooner than later....

C & I since 3/8 here. There's quite a bit of people with decision "pending" on lsn as well. Couldn't have picked a worse year to rely on a February LSAT. :|

Take LSN with a grain of salt, as I'm sure people sign-up with LSN and don't get a chance to update accordingly.

Geez i'm down to my last 3 schools to hear from out of 15. SW is one of them and i've been complete/in review since 2/26. The other two are complete 1/11 and in review 12/15/09! Talk about sloooow.

I'm just dying to hear from them just so I can call it an end to my cycle. I've deposited at USF, but big money from any of the remaining three would bring them into serious consideration.

They show their gratitude by paying $120,000.

Does anyone know how feasible it is to schedule a visit to the school? How much advanced notice is required?

Dean announced $6.1 million in scholarships next year just for continuing students. This is a huge increase from last year and also over the last five years. They expanded the eligible students from top 10% to top 30%. All students in the top 30% will receive scholarships.

What's your opinion on the budget crisis facing the court system in relation to future lawyers employed by the courts?

If the court system is in trouble, will the prestige of your law school play a more important factor in securing employment, or will grades be a more important factor ?

The main factor in securing employment is you. Asking dumb questions in interviews reflects poorly on you. Poor grades reflect poorly on you. If you are impressive enough, your school will not matter.

swollenmonkey asked a question that is a legitimate concern to people, however there isn't really a clear that answer. It is impossible to place a weight on which will matter more between prestige vs. grades. As Danteshek mentioned, all you can do is present your body of work as best as you can. But prestige does matter for certain employment such as biglaw or academia. It would be silly to say that school doesn't matter. Someone who is capable of placing in the top 5% at UCLA or Loyola will definitely have more doors open than top 5% at SW.

"Prestige" is not a concern for students considering Southwestern as an option. Obviously you would go to a prestigious school like Stanford if you could. Hard work, on the other hand, should be on everyone's mind. Grades more than anything else are a reflection of how hard you are willing to work.

The above is also true for Loyola.
