What is the average starting salary for public interest law from Southwestern? Don't they give you like 4,000 a year to do public interest law if you go into their certain programs or something??????? I remember there being different areas like street law children advocacy law or something like that and I thought they gave out a certain amount of money each year if you did that? Thanks Dante

Have you done any research on this before deciding to move to LA?

Public Interest Law Committee hands out about 13-15 $5,500 grants for summer public interest work. I have no idea about salaries.

Ya I did some research but I decided to move to LA whether I go to law school or not. When I went on the tour of Southwestern they explained really quick that they give out certain grants for doing public interest and it is a separate grant for separate areas of public interest work. I never really thought of doing public interest law until a week ago which is why I am asking the questions now. I may go in and decide to do something completely different. Keeping head open to many different options since I may like a certain type of law better than another once I start.

Congrats on your acceptance! I applied for full time day and made SCALE my 2nd choice. Now that I think of it, I should have made my 2nd choice part time. The more time passes, the more discouraged I'm becoming...I just hope all the schools I withdrew from bring me back some good karma. *sigh* =/

I'm still waiting while preparing to live in the OC. At this point, I'm no really interested in SW as I've acclimated to Orange County and prefer it over LA( I'm from LA). If I get a call at the last minute from SW, and I haven't ruled the possibility, I'll let everyone know.

Congrats to all accepted!

Runyon Canyon is a cool place to jog/hike. I went to a club in Hollywood (The Colony) a couple weekends ago and it reminded me why that entire scene should be avoided like the plague
