My mom tells my not to talk about my fitness ideology when girls are around. I admit i'm a little weird in this (and many others) respect.

Danteshek wrote:First of all, if I did that much running, my strength would go way down. Besides, conditioning is not the issue. CrossFit incorporates high intensity met-con into the WODs. The conditioning from the WODs results in better conditioning than what endurance athletes have without sacrificing power. The whole point of CF is that if you go balls to the wall doing 5-25 minute highly varied workouts, you get much better results than conventional "cardio plus weights" low intensity, "workouts" that take twice as long. What you are suggesting (which is consistent with what 99 percent of the ignorant gym going masses believe to be gospel) basically amounts to a monumental waste of time. IMO, people who work on specific muscle groups like a body builders do, and then hop on a treadmill (or go "jogging" to get their conditioning are not and never will be athletes.
Try varying your rep ranges, poundages, and incorporate muscle confusion to keep on making gains. I never mentioned a treadmill. Treadmills are a personal trainer's money maker because they do not help you lose weight, but make you believe you are jogging and getting faster and "in-shape". Personally, I prefer to jog on pavement. One of my routes is to jog from Wilshire Blvd and Vermont to Sunset Blvd and Vermont and back. My strength levels are fairly decent, but my routine is hard at the moment cause I'm dieting. If you suspect that your strength levels will suffer, try to incorporate more protein into your diet, or more calories. Obviously, since I run a lot, I eat several small meals. I'm eating 5 times a day at the moment and taking vitamins. My diet is high protein, low fat, and low to no carbs.

If some of these people will never be athletes, then you have a very strict definition of athlete. Also, it is safe to assume that the 99% of ignorant gym going people are not working out properly.

One last thing, it sounds like your exercise routine is geared toward powerlifting rather than bodybuilding. I do a combination of both.

I find that girls find work-out talk boring. Be weird all you want.

I'm still on the wait-list. Hopefully, a position opens up, and I'm selected.

Unless something drastic happens soon, I will probably be withdrawing. I just don't see it being a great value at full-price tuition.

This waiting is pretty terrible. I broke down and emailed about my app Friday.

Someone at Grand Central Station accidentally put the magazine on display early. A TLS'er hopped on the subway, bought the magazine, scanned it, and the rest is history.

I'm waiting on Chapman. If a spot opens up, it will be tough to decide between SW and Chapman since I love SW's location.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
