Re: Kansas 2013
Thanks for the insight koehn2! We just wanted a nice place and it seemed like they were the best and most convenient. Especially liked their 24 hour fitness area and free printing!!! I'm sure I can find some places to get away if I need but if I don't like it I won't re-sign a lease for another year.
I talked to a guy who was on the waitlist last year (and made it off the last week before classes started) and he just said your chances significantly improve with each cut (if you make it). I figured that was kind of a given... haha. I wish I had some idea as to how many people are left but everyone knows law schools admissions keep us in the dark as much as possible. haha.
At least for now we know no one has been taken off the waitlist for the fall! And you can't defer to the fall if you were offered a seat for the summer start program so we are the next group they will be looking at!

Those looking for a "quiet" apartment complex should look at Hutton Farms. It's a bit pricey, but it's quite nice and very quiet. I lived there for a year and was fairly content.

that was my biggest problem, which is why I ended up further west at park west gardens. they're part of the ironwood management properties, and they had a few property options for me.procrastinator wrote:Anybody know of places that allow large dogs?

The place i mentioned above, Hutton Farms, does. Other than that, I would suggest looking for a townhouse or duplex.procrastinator wrote:Anybody know of places that allow large dogs?

hutton farms was really nice, they just had a $50/mo dog rent...although I've found most places around here have that, just not that much.

Myself and a few other law students I know of live in camson townhomes or the camson apartments, which are only two years old and dog friendly. They are located near sixth and wakarusa, like a ten minute drive to the law school.

Well, I'm declining my offer. Good luck to all of you on the waitlist.
Also, I checked out Hutton Farms while I was in Lawrence — it's very nice.

So much for the excitement, procrastinator! Mind saying where you're going instead?procrastinator wrote:Well, I'm declining my offer. Good luck to all of you on the waitlist.

Yeah, I was pretty excited — but then I got a phone call from FSU off the waitlist and with $.
It was a very tough decision. In the end, I chose FSU because of the things current students said about it in this forum, the way I was treated so enthusiastically by the admissions staff and the fact that one of the deans called me personally to answer questions I had about a particular area of emphasis.

Totally with you on that. Personalized attention rocks. Best of luck at FSU, then!procrastinator wrote:Yeah, I was pretty excited — but then I got a phone call from FSU off the waitlist and with $.

agreed. i didn't understand this "late may" thing. it never make sense to tell us anything before the next seat deposit. and late may has come and gone. they're just being smart and taking their time as they should. i'm guessing we will hear after the next seat deposit.phi4life940 wrote:...................

I guess it is smart to wait til after the second seat deposit........
Hopefully this waiting pays off for us! If it does we should have a Waitlist-Admitted Party. lol
Sorry....the party is for waitlist-admits only....but we can put the admitted students on a waitlist to get in....that way they get a taste of this HELL! hahahahahaha

Has anyone heard anything yet about the waitlist? Nothing has been said since June 25th. Good luck to all those that are still waiting!

Midwest Bound...We haven't heard anything since mid-June when they said they wouldn't make any further decisions until after June 25th....it's really put a dark cloud on the summer.
From the sound of your post I take it you were on the waitlist/you are going somewhere else???

Re: Kansas 2013
I am currently in at Mizzou and UMKC; however, KU is by far my first choice. But waiting on this waitlist is painful. I hope something happens soon. The rest of schools that I was on the waitlist announced there intentions last week... I am kind of concerned why there has been no word from KU. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we hear today or tomorrow!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
