The gym you're referring to, the ARC (anteater recreation center), is one of Kobe Bryant's training spots. It's very awesome.
That sounds awesome - I'll have to challenge him if I see him there, though I'd need a few of you as support, maybe make it 3 on 1 and we'd have a shot.

Sorry Ms. Choi, wish you great luck next cycle or this summer. Next year I believe there will be more seats offered, and with your great attitude I kind of hope it works out for you.

Soooooo I'm visiting my parents for the weekend and what should come in the mail here? Oh, a rejection from UCI. :( I thought I would at least get waitlisted. I guess UCI is harder to get waitlisted at than Michigan! Oh well, I'm happy in my choice and my cycle is now finally over.

P.S. Ms. Choi they are really missing out on you! You are like UCI's #1 fan. Dean O I'm dissapointed that you let lsat determine that she wasn't worthy of your class. :( Good luck on retaking the LSAT!! We're all pulling for you!

Sorry about your rejection. If I'm not mistake, you're going to Davis? Awesome school! Best of luck :) .

But don't speak for Dean Ortiz... That's not right, especially since she always speaks of how closely she reviews each and every application, always beginning with the writing samples. Irvine is much more holistic in its admissions process than most schools.

I don't think this should be a big surprise to anyone... but from what I've heard the Class of 2013 will be on par with our class as far as LSAT/GPA, which is awesome and another great step in establishing UCI as a top tier school.

Yeah, we were all over at Chemerinsky's house last night for a "Hurray! We're done with the first year of law school! (except for finals)" party.

Has anyone else been following the amazing news about Luke Boughen, the UCI Law student that made the new football ("soccer") documentary called "Pelada"?

Pany- do you know Luke? Are you Luke? Can you introduce me to Luke and tell him he's my hero and that I'm 100% determined to persuade him to make a sequel and allow me to join the team?

AWESOME.

Is Luke Brazilian?

"Pelada" is the term in Portuguese for a pickup football game, refering to the fact that nearly everyone plays shirtless.

I am not Luke (who is not Brazilian), but I definitely know him. With how small our class is, I think to not know any particular person I'd have to proactively avoid them... and there's nobody in our class who warrants being avoided.

Yeah I'm going to Davis. Thanks! I'm very excited about it. :D

Sorry if you thought my comments were misplaced, but it is true that they were looking to keep their medians up so they were very concerned with lsat scores. You can't deny that.

I'm sure Irvine will be a great experience for all of you. Good Luck next year!

You've always been really nice. Thanks. I'm not too sad. Just a bit surprised I guess. I'm going to a great school so I'll be fine! Good luck to you too!

Haven't been back to this forum in a while, but I'll be joining the class of 2013. Coming back to live at home for three years -- it'll be just like high school...not.

Where do you parents live?

I don't think I could handle moving back home but I can see the argument for saving the money. OC is so expensive. My mom is in Tx so I don't have that as an option anyway.

Living on campus is actually pretty affordable... but it definitely can't beat free.

Not true. I personally know people who got in with 160 LSAT and not so great GPA as well.

I live about 25min away if traffic is good...up to 40min if it's bad.

Hi to all! I've been a lurker up to now and will be part of the fall class at UCI. Has anyone seen that as of April 19 (after the decision deadline), there is a new moratorium on cats for Verrano and Palo Verde? This is a big issue for me as we have 2 cats and had budgetted to live on campus, but now none of the 5 complexes will allow cats. Is anyone else having the same issue?

I called Housing and they seem very inflexible about it. I understand that if they make one exception, they will have to make more, but this sudden decision comes at a very awkward time, especially since we'd been reading all along that up cats are allowed as long as they are kept indoors and vaccinated and I had even called housing to confirm. Any ideas on what to do at this point?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
