Congratulations Veritas and Nighthawk, and all of you recent admits. It seems like UC Irvine Law truly is unique in a sense that the student body seems genuinely kind and friendly. Even amongst TLS UCI fans, everyone's got good attitude about life and school. You guys are just the type of positive vibe I want to be around for the next 3 years. I've been lurking more than posting, and Irvine seems devoid of cutthroat, gunner competition, unlike at other top law schools.

Congrats to the new admits (and thanks for the hope that it may not be over yet)! There does seem to be a good vibe out there about UCI. It sounds amazing, and the weather would certainly be a draw. I'm from DC and am tired of seeing the mounds of snow left over from our snowpocalypse- I need some sunshine! Please say they're not done with the acceptances/waitlists already... I SWEAR I'd be worth it, I will make UCI proud!! And they would provide a service by giving me reason to move to a warmer climate... the constant cold and rain/snow is driving me crazy

+1- I really hope yesterday was the start of those huge waves we've been waiting for...

And if anyone on here has been waitlisted, do you mind sharing how you found out? (e-mail, snail mail, etc..)

LSN is a pretty good sampler, but there's 1 waitlist and no rejections yet. I'm sure they have a pile of rejection list as well, just not sent.

I'm new to this thread but I can tell how enthusiastic everyone is about UCI, both applicants and current students. I'm very attracted by UCI because I think it provides a breath of fresh air to a stodgy and risk averse profession.

I truly believe UCI will be a top tier law school, especially between the Top 10 faculty, Dean Chemerinsky's visionary (and courageous) leadership, the 3.61/167 student body, the immense backing of the Orange County business and legal communities, and last but not least the innovative, practical curriculum. Particularly in this economy, employers will be keen to hire new attorneys who have some practical experience and therefore cost less to train. Another plus is the location - Irvine is the safest city in the country with a population over 100,000. It is certainly nice to be able to walk to class without dodging bullets and breathing in the smog. Also, the general tone and friendliness of the students will make going to UCI a lot more enjoyable than a more cutthroat institution.

As for getting ABA accredited and continuing with the scholarships, do you really think that these faculty members would have left their elite law schools for UCI if they weren't absolutely convinced that Chemerinsky could deliver on his promises?
