All right, well that helps my confidence a little. Then again, if I recall correctly you have more than a few LSAT points on me. Well done!DoctorNick189 wrote:3.0 here. Was 2.99 when I applied.Neil wrote:Woah, sounds like a big wave today. Congrats to all the new admits!

Re: UC Irvine 2013
the part about the GPA though... once you're already below a schools 25% GPA it doesn't matter how low they go. which is why splitters are well off enough. 25% median and 7% are the only numbers reported to US new rankings which affect the rankings... assuming all schools want to rank higher...Neil wrote:Woah, sounds like a big wave today. this also applies to reverse splitters...

damn nice LSAT...DoctorNick189 wrote:I'm still in school. B+ average last term brought the GPA up. 176 LSAT. HYP undergrad.
did irvine know you improved to 3.0 though? although that LSAT might have been the reason why they dipped that low into GPA...
congrats again!

that is tough... but if you want to work in CA... i think that would put UCI over the edge with the 50% free tuition...DoctorNick189 wrote:argh I wish she would call back.
now I will have to make the difficult UCI vs. WUSTL decision...
that's just me though... i have no acceptances

Re: UC Irvine 2013
depends on the tuition increases... but check out LSN... everyone estimated what it is but everyone has different numbers...DoctorNick189 wrote:(I'm too lazy to do this myself and am hoping one of you has worked it out already:)
(0.5)*(1L out-of-state tuition + 2L in-state tuition + 3L in-state tuition) = x
What's x?

Re: UC Irvine 2013
Do you have a scholly offer at WUSTL? and also will you get to pay in state if you did go there? Either way I don't think the 50% from IRVINE can be beat but that's my biased opinion.
On a more selfish note...does anyone think they're doing the waves of acceptances by categories? (as has been the case lately, splitters) or could it be just a coincidence that tls posters/LSN acceptances just happen to be splitters and there are rev. splitters getting accepted simultaneously?

I got the call from Dean Ortiz this morning! Very excited!
I'm a reverse-splitter (nothing too extreme).
Dean Ortiz was very sweet on the phone, and her kind comments suggest that she really pays attention to your writing.

I am facing the exact same decision. I know I want to practice in Southern California so I think UCI has the edge but too early to say. UCI seems pretty amazing from what I have seen/read.DoctorNick189 wrote:argh I wish she would call back.

I'm still waiting on WUSTL, but there's no way I'd choose it over Irvine (I also want to live and practice in SoCal).ENGINEERD wrote:I am facing the exact same decision. If you want to work in SoCal, I truly think it would be a mistake to take WUSTL over Irvine. I've heard of WashU grads having trouble in LA, and the package at Irvine is so enticing.
