Submitted in Mid-October, but haven't gotten word that my application is complete yet.

I've actually been a little disappointed in the lack of communication.

Same boat, just an App received note, nothing that says its complete, I'll probably call tomorrow.

I hadn't heard anything since I got a "received" email, so I emailed them and they said they had everything needed for my file.

I noticed on LSN no one really indicates they have received a "complete" notice. Looking through previous years on LSN, it seems Pitt was accepting people by this time. Kind of a bummer.

I submitted back on 10/17 and had yet to receive even a 'received' email from them. Contacted admissions today and received a hearty reply saying I was complete, but that they only send out email when you are under review. I find that hard to believe seeing as how others received 'received' emails, but FYI.

+1

I submitted the third week of October and only received the "received app" email. On LSN, people got accepted right now last year...maybe they bypass the complete email and send out acceptance letters so early in the cycle? Here's to hoping we hear something soon!

From what I can gather, there is a flood of applications this year, as the recession has prompted people to search for a sturdy professional degree, which may be why it is taking them so much longer than last year. This seems to be a trend with recessions.

Is this comment about the cycle in general, or have you heard something specific about Pitt?

It was about the cycle in general, sorry if it was unclear.

Anyone strongly considering going here if they get in? I've heard good things about the school, but I am curious as to where Pitt falls on people's lists.

Pitt is in my top 5 of schools that aren't a super reach for me. Cardozo, Marquette, University of Washington, Drake and Pitt are my top five, but Duke is my #1, even though I have virtually 0 chance of getting in.

Pitt is definitely in my top 5. I've heard similar things about the cycle...kind of a bummer. I spoke with admissions today to see if I was complete because I hadn't received a complete email either and the lady said that I would receive an e-mail when it goes to committed. She said that the admissions committee was going to start reviewing applications this week.

It's more of a safety for me I suppose, but I would really consider going with the right offer. I'm in state, well, in city actually so the price is right. I've been a little put off by the lack of communication with the admissions office though.

Anyone else find it odd that in the past 10-15 years the University as a whole has been skyrocketing in terms of rankings and reputation, and the law school has gone in the opposite direction? Even more strange, the Chancellor who is credited (rightfully so) for Pitt's progress over the past decade is the former Dean of the law school. I don't know, I can't help but think something strange is going on here.

I don't want to start internet rumors, but maybe something is up in the admissions office. Anyone else notice they canceled their open house? Odd and somewhat disconcerting, but I'm not going to make too much out of it. I have contacted them twice and they have been very helpful though.

Pitt is probably near the top of my list for the following reasons: In state tuition, $$ (hopefully $$$) seems to be guaranteed with my numbers, tons of friends in the city, and near family.

Good news from joliveri on the committee reviewing applications soon. I need to lose my ADW virginity. (Though I sense a disheartening, but not unexpected email from Berkeley in my near future)

I don't know if Pitt's "descent" (if you can call it that) in the rankings has to do with a lack of something or other at the school, but rather other schools doing more. Pitt still owns its market and without any pressure from Duquesne, they're probably good with that. The new IPI thing sounds cool.

No, and they still haven't responded to my email from a week ago asking if my application was complete.
