How long were you the waitlist for those of you who have been accepted off of it?

I was on the waitlist for about 3 weeks. I sent in a LOCI and a new letter of rec. I have been trying to get into the school for about 2 years now so I think my it was my determination and personal statement that got me in. My numbers, although decent, weren't the deciding factor.

Yes, I got multiple e-mails about applying to McGeorge in the last few weeks. "Application Deadline Today!" "Application Deadline Extended!"... etc.
I did not show any interest in McGeorge or any other school outside of the southeastern U.S.
Made me look at this thread and wonder if anyone else had noticed their apparent desperation for more applications.

When did you get these emails?
Maybe it's because you have really high numbers.

It's nothing personal, they just have to protect their rankings. I'm on the WL too. It sucks but it's what every school has to worry about.

If McGeorge really wants to boost its ranking/number of apps, all it needs to do is stamp "SCOTT BORAS WENT HERE!" on all its promotional materials.

Re: McGeorge
Howdy WL'ers-
I heard that they will not be looking at the WL until after June 1st (second deposit) deadline. We just have to be patient for 2 more weeks when activity is likely to begin- then, we can start to worry.
On another note, has anyone heard any admission horror stories at McGeorge? By "horror stories" I mean someone getting accepted the day before classes started or the first day of class and having to drop everything to go. Just wondering because this is my biggest fear from the WL standpoint.
Peace.

a lot of schools accept students right up until the first day or 2 of classes, because there are always students that wait up until the first day or 2 of classes to drop outdaywall wrote:On another note, has anyone heard any admission horror stories at McGeorge? i wouldn't consider it a horror story, most people are pretty damn happy to get in off the waitlist at a school they love, even if its the first day of classes

Re: McGeorge
Sure, I would be very happy if my top school (McG) took me off the WL, but it would be horrible to not be able to plan the move ahead because I have a family to worry about. However, if it came down to it, I'd move in a heartbeat to attend McG.
I'm wondering how many people on the WL have chosen to remain on the list for both the day and evening program and how many only selected the day program. I did not select the evening program mainly because it means that I will have to work and go to school. I would have to find a job near Sac and that might be a problem in this job market. If I can secure a job near Sac before school started maybe I would consider the evening program.

Re: McGeorge
You don't need a job to attend the evening program. A handful of students attend the evening program as a way to ease into law school with the lighter load (or sneak into law school since they accept lower stats). If you are deadset on attending McGeorge this fall then you may want to secure a spot at McGeorge by taking the evening seat. You could transfer to the FT day program at the end of 1L and take summer courses to catch up and graduate in the normal 3 years. You could still take out the same amount of loans to cover your expenses as you would have attending the FT program. So I'm not sure why you think you would have to work if you attended the evening program. A lot of students attend the evening program and do nothing but study all day or intern/work/volunteer 20 hrs/wk.

Re: McGeorge
Without going into details, my situation is complicated and there are other reasons why I was not inclined to consider the evening program. It is sufficient to say that if I could, I'd finish school in less than 3 years.

Hey guys. I just want to give you guys an update. I will be attending McGeorge next year and have been networking with several of our future 1L's. I just want you to know, ommitting numbers, that I know of several people who have withdrawn recently, so I know for certain that there are spots opening up! Hang in there!
