It seems that they reject the vast majority of applicants that are non-Texas residents.

Gosh. I am simply dreading 12/15.

There was a time when December was the loveliest month of the year. Not this year. :(

You'll hear back by December 15th for sure, right? So it's only a week or so away at most!

its easy for me to say relax now :?

but before i got accepted i kinda gave up on being obsessive about things and just looked at checkers and so on when I saw a wave of acceptances on this forum...relieves a lot of stress

just let things come when they come and make the best decision you can with the cards youre dealt

I'm stressing, of course, but I have a ton of work to do this week, so I can't afford to be as obsessive as I usually am.

I'm less than thrilled about it, to say the least, but every time I think of this, I go to their website or look at the viewbook and remind myself of how much I love that school. It doesn't hurt that their job prospects are undeniably excellent compared to the vast majority of law schools ITE, and it is likely I will be able to pay off my loans in a reasonable amount of time.

Edit: by reasonable, I am well aware this will not be two or three years.

Paying sticker is a really scary idea- I'm almost thinking of not going because of it. There is no question that 150k+ of debt is a tremendous gamble. If I go, I'm gunning regardless of the social stigma attached to it. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to leave with that amount of debt and not have a good job.

+1

I'm not going to law school in order to extend my social network. Sure, I want to have friends there and whatnot, but I will be first and foremost a law student, and even though my LSAT is below their 25th percentile, I can guarantee I will be in the top half of my class there, without a doubt.

Being obsessed with doing work for LS with the sole purpose of being at or near the top of the class. Also, abandoning a normal social life, sleep cycle, technology, and all other forms of amusement and homeostasis in order to achieve said outcome.

Don't forget that this will be the last 3 years you have before the real world punches you in the face, you gotta enjoy it a little bit

Given that I would not settle for anything lower than a T14 and my numbers are fairly mediocre at all of the T14, I would likely be sticker anywhere. Being in-state at UM gives me a negligible break (really, really negligible). However, UM's awesome LRAP program is the biggest draw in terms of financing my education. I plan to do public interest/government work, and UM's LRAP is one of the best in the nation, so the thought of being $180k+ in debt gives me less pause being at UM than it would at a comparable school with an inferior LRAP.
