I'm not sure about this. I was accepted and I took the LSAT twice and did worse the second time around. But then again, my score wasn't too great in the first place.

I didn't say before but I also got a small scholarship.
You are not making him feel better...
srsly.

I was WLed last cycle, with a LSAT 13 pts lower than my current one. So I was kind of hoping for some more love this cycle. But it could just be more competitive.

I guess - I'm starting to worry because so much money is being given out early - I figure we'll get in, but will the $$ be there... and are they doing the ones they want to give $$$ to first (as it seems) and then the others won't be getting any...
It could also be that they are just deciding how much to give us =) They could just be working themselves down the applications from highest numbers who are super auto admits
Could be something - there is a 161/3.2 already accepted, but without $$ it looks like, and a 163/3.3 with small $$, but other than that it's GPA's above 3.57 with 161-165 LSATs (perfect high end types in terms of who would actually attend Loyola), and then they jump to over 170 LSATS (at least according to LSN). So for now maybe 166-169 LSATs are being ignored
got in today via snailmail!
84,000 dollar scholarship
3.52, 167

I'm expecting you will be getting one soon

Got a letter today.

They're deferring me for the regular application period....not sure if I should be happy, exactly, but at least it's not an outright denial. anyone else get deferred?

Also, here's an interesting thread where someone is asking if it's even worth it to go to lower-ranked schools like Loyola: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5#p2339795

Makes me wonder now.....but then, I really do like Loyola! for a number of reasons..

Are you guys who have been accepted so far early decision applicants? I noticed someone said they got deferred to regular admission so that is why I'm wondering. I'm still at complete and have no idea when it was that I actually went complete what with their different dates on the application status.

so i received my letter today and i applied for early decision and it said that I had been denied. Does this mean I am denied from the entire application process or merely the early decision pool? I also applied for part-time as well...nothing was mentioned about it...does this mean I have been denied completely from the school? thanks

If it didn't say that you'd be reconsidered with the regular applicant pool in the letter, then you are probably not getting in. The letter should have been pretty clear... though I can't say I really know what a rejection letter looks like from law school.

the school's online status thing hasn't worked in a few days. I really hope they get around to making decisions in the New Year

+1 although I applied mid October, I guess they are taking the for sures first and working themselves down and/or they want to see what the Dec LSAT takers look like. I guess its better than being WLed or Rejected right?

I dont think you should be especially being a URM and with the nice LSAT. I think if they didnt like us they would have already WLed us or rejected ... a friend of mine got off the WL last minute with a 163/3.0/non-URM and nothing interesting about himself really.

Theyre probably just doing the second batch now and going to send them out all at once! =)

Hey everybody -

Just browsing through, it seems like a lot of schools are sending decisions through snail mail. I got my first acceptance via email (Penn State) so I guess I just assumed most other schools would notify me this way. Does Loyola LA (and other schools, if you guys know) send decisions only through snail mail, or are you getting emails before/concurrently? I applied a lot later than I wanted to (around Dec 15th) because I spent a lot of time studying for my second run at the LSATs, so I'm wondering if I'm not hearing back because of my late application date or that I haven't checked my mailbox. I would look, but I've been away from my college residence for three weeks.

Thanks!

I'm glad I read this post because I haven't heard anything from Loyola--even though I applied in October. I just emailed them for a log-in for the status checker.

"Your application is COMPLETE and ready for review. You will be notified of a decision in writing via the U.S. Mail. Our goal is to notify applicants as soon as possible of a final decision. We appreciate your patience during our comprehensive review of your application and supporting documents."

This is what the status checker reads for complete application. It looks as though they're using snail mail exclusively in order to notify applicants.

Thanks! Hopefully I'll have a few responses from schools when I get back to my apartment.
