I thought the March ASW was anemic, I bet there's a better showing this weekend. Libational Equal Opportunity Banquet? I'm in.

a. the tied schools are always listed alphabetically. all 35s are equal.
b. the raw scores for schools 22-50 are pretty damn similar. Minnesota, for example, has a USNWR rating of 68 (ranked #22). Indiana has a 65, and it is ranked #27. A one point change in the overall score can mean a significant jump or fall in the ranking numbers (which is why overall scores are more important than ranking numbers, if you choose to put any stock in it at all).

TO jump that much in one year? Geez....

I have a feeling that the 2012 rankings will probably have UW ranked even better because it is obvious that this cycle they are looking to increase their median LSAT by 2 points. Either way it is nice to see it back in the t-30 where it belongs!

Great...now when I send in my LOCI they're going to think it's only because they increased their ranking. :D

Yes, yes you did. I'm still sending one tonight since they don't know I have the inside scoop from TLS.

 I was T10 material yesterday. Since Northwestern accepted me while still at #10, I'm counting it.

I take it you're selecting NU over UW?

I have to admit this does put Wisconsin at in-state tuition in a new light.

Well, I won't be going to the actual event (unless I get off the WL this week) but I would be up for meeting you guys for a beer.

On second thought, maybe I WILL show up to the ASW. It can be my George Costanza style strategy- just show up to everything and pretend like I got in  ...

pm me your cell # and i'll let you know where we end up (or i'll grab drinks if nobody goes out, but i doubt that for some reason)

does that mean UW nightrunner?

probably a smart decision, I would have done the same. Just curious, any of you find places to stay yet?

You guys will do just fine in Madison.

If you need any bar or restaurant recommendations, don't hesitate to ask.

So what do u recommend?

Depends on what you're looking for--for a burger, Dotty's is the best in Madison, maybe the country. Some may argue, but it's absolutely phenomenal. Buraka is great for Ethiopian food, Ian's for pizza...if you're hammered.

Bars...I'm a huge proponent of The Old Fashioned, Cooper's and The Great Dane, all around the Capitol. The Dane is a brewpub and the atmosphere is pretty cool.

The dane has a cool atmosphere, but their beer is sub-par imo.

Hey guys,

So I'm curious to hear where all you attendees have decided to live next year. Studying here for undergrad for 4 years, I assumed I would be a guru at figuring out a living situation for next year. Alas, it has not been the case at all; turns out I'm really only familiar with undergrad spots (shocker!) and I become increasingly oblivious to options as you reach out from those areas.

So are you finding yourselves out closer to the capitol? Sticking with the primarily undergrad-filled high-rises that are much closer to the law building? Flats? Apartments? Condos?

*Just wonderin'*

I want to move into the nicer apartments right near the law building, although they seem to be very booked already. I'm not having luck finding roommates or anything, and there aren't very many singles still available in this area. I wanted to be within walking distance even in the worst of weather. And the location there seems to be within walking distance of everything important.

Man, even while I'm doing work for my job I'm still thinking of ways to improve my application. Hmmm on the waitlist and I just want to get them to review it again soon. If only I could visit. Hopefully there is some movement soon. And yes I sent in my loci a few weeks ago. : (

Hey guys,

I'm a rising 3L at Wisconsin law. I read something about apartments, and thought I'd give you heads up about my place, which is available for sublease starting June 1st, with the option to renew the lease for a full year starting August 1st. I love the place, but will be studying abroad in the fall. It's a 1BR, close to the UW Campus and near the Capitol:

But now that we got the advertisement out of the way, damn I'm glad Wisconsin jumped to 28! Word hasn't gotten out yet around the law school, but I'm sure people will be excited once word gets out.

If you guys are coming to the ASW this week, make sure to check out the after party at Fresco's following the LEO banquet Saturday night. People should be out there by 10pm. Here is a link to the facebook events page:
