I agree with the above. I applied 1/4, went complete 1/11, and decision made 3/15. My original impression is that my application was weak and Wisconsin wasn't interested since it took them so long. Obviously i was wrong.

So my best guess is Wisconsin is probably waiting for you to submit some kind of statement of interest. Visit or send in LOCI as soon as you can. Good luck.

I went under review on 1/8 so I think I'll be sending in a preemptive LOCI as well. Is this a good plan or should I maybe wait it out this week just in-case?

Also, should the letter be addressed to Dean Hall?

looking at LSN, it really looks like they're shooting for 164 median this year.

I have a good feeling about today. The sun is shining, it's warm out, it has been 10 weeks since I have heard anything from UW. I predict I will get my decision today.

/check back in 12 hours for angry rant about not hearing back

Visited Wisconsin over my spring break last week. Loved the college, loved the people, loved the city. However, there is a little too much of a party atmosphere for me there, and the law school building was very confusing. Won't be attending next Fall.

Hopefully more people will send in withdrawls soon and help us out. Thanks nyskidude!

a two point jump would be quite an improvement. but you are right about lsn. last year you can tell 162 was the 'magic' number, this year (for now at least) it looks like 164. that would put my lsat at the median instead of the 75th - which is not good.

Waitlisted this morning via e-mail.

UW is my #1 choice.

I am sending a LOCI this afternoon and will be scheduling a visit.

Good luck to those still waiting!

Crown Plaza is nice, just be warned that it isn't close to the law school. It will be about a $20 cab ride each way if you don't have a car with you. 10-15 minute drive if you do have your own ride. If you want someplace close to campus I would pick the Double Tree or the Concourse.

I've stayed at the doubletree before. It's nice, and it's very close.

Hey guys, its a general question:

For those who drives a car in Wisconsin; so i've heard about the legendary winter Wisconsin has, would u recommend buying an All Wheel Drive SUV?

what do you currently drive? of course an all-wheel drive suv is better for the rough winters than a rear-wheel drive sports car, but there are types of cars in-between that are more than adequate if you are used to driving in poor weather conditions. so i guess the follow up question would be, where are you from?

you'll be fine with a front wheel drive car. that's what i've always had. our winters suck, but since we're so used to them, we're pretty good at getting most of it cleared up quickly (usually before daily commute if it's overnight). You're from VA according to profile, so you've seen snow before. I think you'll be fine with whatever you drive. I wouldn't buy a new car just for wisconsin, whatever you have now should suffice.

my only suggestion is to not have rear wheel drive if you can help it, as the above poster mentioned.

having seen snow and experience driving in snow are two totally different things. I imagine (other than this years craziness) that VA drivers arent as adept as WI drivers in snow. That being said, dont buy a different car unless: 1. you suck at driving when its not snowing or 2. you have rear-wheel drive.

Just get snow tires (I'm from Buffalo - I know bad snow.)
