Ditto! Actually surprised it wasn't an outright rejection.

Our numbers are fairly similar...
I love that the email dangled the carrot in front of us by saying there's no guarantee of admission but that some applicants will very likely be admitted and that if we have a special interest in attending Wisc we should let them know (this is underlined)...

I live in the Northeast and it's so deep into winter that the idea of writing Wisconsin and saying I have a burning desire to attend feels impossible. If it were UMiami, maybe. I think I may let myself slide to the bottom of the waitlist. Good luck!

Damn, sorry Slim. You writing an LOCI?
I'll probably visit sometime in early April and then write one.

A friend of mine got in...with a 154. Granted, she is half-Latino or something, and a Wisconsin resident, but come on.

+1. As fun as it would be to go to school in Madison, I am going to withdraw now that I can be pretty certain I won't be seeing any scholarship money. Enjoy!

Does Wisconsin have a quick turnaround for those who were accepted? From when people turned in their apps to when they heard a decision how long did it take? I'm hoping I get in (thought I was a lock) but my out of state-ness is beginning to worry me since it has almost been a month and a week of being "in review". There hasn't been a new round of acceptances since I applied to I am hoping but man I wish they would hurry up.

Dear UW,
I Love. Like seriously. I dream about you. I have a framed picture of you next to my bed. I painted a giant badger on my bedroom wall. I bought a parka and chains for my tires even though I live in California. You're my soul mate.
Please admit me.
Forever yours,
Phoenix

mine took around a month and a half and I was a waitlist.
I've already sent two LOCI's.
I feel like I'm trying to charm that one girl who is way out of my league but winked at me once from across the bar only to reject my offer of a drink. Now I'm just on my knees begging and pleading...

Today officially marks my 8 weeks of "in review." Did I ever mention that waiting for things is not one of my strengths?

I've been going strong 10 weeks in review. Oh, Wisconsin, why do you string me along like this?

If you end up WL'd, I'd send this as an LOCI.
I tried that once, they call the police and i had to handcuff myself and escort myself out in shame.

my LOCI first draft was very similar to this, lol. Instead of a panted badger, however, I had "I don't want to go to Illinois
"

Does anyone know if being a legacy increases chances of a scholarship? My parents both went to UW and I'm an out-of-stater... anxiously waiting since my file went complete 1/26. Hmph.
And is it true? No seat deposit?! Woohoo! Hope I get in, haha...

Although Legacies are given a bump just like the URM (not sure this applies to state schools like UW, but definitely so @ Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Notre Dame et al.), they are usually expected to pay sticker. This is assuming the legacy in question has subpar numbers. However, if your scores are way above UW median, then thats a different story.

Checking in. Went complete 3/10 (waiting for Feb LSAT), and under review immediately thereafter.
I've always liked U - Wisconsin. Madison is a great town. Sort of wish I had written more about the school in my PS. I'm afraid it might look a bit disinterested.
LSAT at median, and GPA [strike]well above[/strike] a little above 75%, but with this cycle, who knows.

Sorry guys.. I think I'm bouncing out of this thread. I'm gonna wait before I officially withdraw just to give me some extra time to mull over the decision.
However, Madison is a fantastic school. For all you going there, you are making an excellent choice. It truly finished in 2nd place in my school search over some other highly regarded places due to its atmosphere and other things.

I can offically say after just reading this entire thread (instead of studying for my midterm) I am completely convinced I am screwed, especially considering UW is trying to raise its numbers?! I really hope that some other things I have read are true... like many schools trying to raise their numbers this cycle only to be disappointed and have to take people off the waitlist. Anyways best of luck to everyone!

With that GPA and the fact that you are in-state, you might still be good. If you get waitlisted, remember to send a LOCI.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
