mine has been in review since 12/15. Take that as you will...

Hey! Me, too! I hope we hear soon...

I hope so too. I'm out of state though, and I hear that's gonna make for a long review period. Are you OOS?

Still counts though. :P Maybe they'll want someone from NY and they'll see my app and take me immediately. (A gal can dream, no?)

I wonder how MN reciprocity works in admissions decisions at Wisconsin, just a thought

I am in state, so it wouldn't affect me, but I imagine since they are all about the interest that being from a nearby state could help in that regard since it is a school in your "area" But since they have to accept a certain percent of in state students perhaps they want to maximize their out of state tuition money. So I guess basically I have no idea and can see them going either way with students from the neighbors.

To those of you who filled out the Scholarship thing, do you end up getting an email or something confirming you submitted it?

This is all mine says and I filled out the scholarship form on 1/24.

"Mailings
Mail Description Mailing Date
Scholarship Form Email 01/14/2010"

I received a letter dated 1/25 telling me to apply for FAFSA. Haha. I know its probably unrelated, but cute timing. Makes me think Wisconsin is trying to tell me the only way I'm going to get money is to borrow it from the govt. (Which is probably true, my numbers aren't good.)

Ah, my bad. That must be the day they emailed it to you and not the day you filled it out. I happened to have both happen the same day, so that's probably why I thought that. I never got a "received" email about it. In fact, I've been sitting in review since then and haven't heard a peep from UW.

FWIW- the normal time of 6-8 weeks from complete to decision is taking even longer because one of the committee members has been on maternity leave...

That is really good to know, I was starting to freak a bit having not heard anything. I guess I just have to be patient and wait longer. Luckily I have way too much work to do anyway that should keep me distracted.

just curious (since this thread has been extra-dead lately), how many of you submitted a "why wisconsin?" essay right away?

I'm considering sending one in as it is my first choice. I originally planned on getting WL'd and sending in a solid LOCI, but I'm wondering if it might be smarter to simply send it now?

Of course, your 167 probably had more to do with that than anything else. :)

For anyone that filled in the online scholarship thingy, what did you include in consumer debt/credit card? I am trying to decide if I should list my mortgage debt in there. Since technically a mortgage is consumer debt, but I am thinking they are looking more for car payments and credit card debt. Anyone have any insight on the way to go with that? I did try emailing them to ask about it, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

I put mortgage information in the "Real Estate Equity" section.

I actually called the other day to ask them that exact question. They said that I could include it in the "Consumer debt" section, and that the form was a pretty loose way for them to determine financial need so that it didn't really matter too much. Being paranoid that they would think I had 100k+ in credit card debt, I still noted in the comments section that I had included my mortgage in that section rather than revolving debt.

Won't it look like you have 100% equity if you list the mortgage there?
