163, 3.4. By Wisconsin standards I was more or less a splitter with good softs, so I was kind of expecting a WL. Good luck.jen_said wrote:Jerome wrote:WL via e-mail this AM. Sending a LOCI soon.
What were your numbers?? I'm still waiting to hear.

I think pretty good. I would be slightly confident. Your age might matter; the older the better.pepsi wrote:What do you guys think are my chances of getting in at UW?
I have a 3.7, 160, OOS, female, non-URM, applied in January

Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
I went to ASW this weekend. A few interesting extracts...
Mike Hall told me that the admissions office is 2/3 of the way through the applicant pool and have offered 2/3 of their anticipated acceptances. They are only planning on admitting 500-550 students this cycle. He also mentioned that last year their yield rate jumped almost 10%, putting the yield close to 40%. This year they are trying for a class of 220-240.
The good news - UW sent an email asking for you to submit a decision of accept, reject, or uncertain by April 1st. If you choose uncertain, they extend your decision deadline to May 1st. So I would anticipate some movement after both April 1st and May 1st.
Hall also mentioned that financial aid packages will continue to be distributed on a rolling basis throughout March and April (at minimum, possibly later as well.)
On another interesting note, Cecilia Klingele, UW Class of '05 who clerked for the Hon. Barbara Crabb, Susan Black, and John Paul Stevens will be teaching some 1L sections this coming fall!

Wow, that is a much bigger class than other schools I have been looking at. I didn't realize that UW was that big of a law school.Shimmer649 wrote: This year they are trying for a class of 220-240.

Is there a certain time of day that UW sends out decisions?
It should be any day now for me, and I'm wondering if there is a certain time of day I should check my e-mail more. Otherwise, I will be clicking refresh allllllllll day!!

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but these threads get so long and filled up...
How does Madison go about offering scholarships? That is, how long after admission? Or would it have come in the admission email?

Are people off the waitlist still considered for merit scholarships?

Re: Wisconsin 2010 Application Cycle
I can't speak for UW, but a lot of schools said that their scholarship usually dries out by April 15th and those people admitted off the waitlist aren't getting them not because they are not qualify per se but because there is no more money. In some rich schools where they have a lot of dough to throw at people and some people chose to withdrew between April and August, the money offered to them gets recycled and given to those on the "preferred waitlist".msbeautifulbasham wrote:Are people off the waitlist still considered for merit scholarships?
