It's just kind of nice to have some form of communication from a school, as opposed to the 10+ ones I haven't heard back from yet that I applied to in November.
The alumni I've been in contact with are from different places than that (one is working in NYC and graduated in '97).

Definitely feeling the love. And it's definitely placing Iowa at the top of my list right now (which, I'm sure, is the intended effect).
I agree. I haven't gotten the same emails but similar ones and it is making Iowa seem like a pretty great choice.

I'm interested in this, too. How long after acceptance do scholarships come out?
For those that received scholarships, how long did it take Iowa to notify you?

It took a couple of weeks. I was accepted 12/11 and received my scholarship on 01/02. I'm also not sure if they've sent out any partials yet, so that time frame may be a little different.

I was accepted 12/1, received my scholarship 1/25. So forever-

Haha... Genius am I.... I swore I had a fee waiver when I filled out the app but could not find it and paid for the app.

There is a hold list already? I was informed that I was being placed under second review, but they have a separate hold group?

So here I am trying to schedule a trip to Iowa City. . . and frustrated that it is 3 hours from a major airport. The Des Moines airport makes me wonder if I will really get to Iowa City when I plan to. I am not going ASW as I have another school at the same time. However I might be catching the reception of the ASW, but not the Friday festivities.

Anyone else frustrated with location relative to an airport?

Have you checked flights into Cedar Rapids?

I sent my app in 12/22, and I think LSAC sent it all out 12/28.

I sure would like scholly info. I know I'm not full ride or anything, but I'd sure like 10-15...

You can get in state tuition for 2L and 3L by getting an RA position and from what I hear, they basically have those for OOSers.

I don't think partial scholarships have been sent out yet. If you call the admissions office and ask if you have been nominated for a scholarship they will tell you. If you don't hear anything by March 15th, you have not received any scholly.

I will be driving to Iowa City from Michigan. I love long drives. I can't wait to get some good music on and drink a slurpee on the open road.

Has anyone else got the emails from the 1L and the graduate? I think that's pretty nice.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
