Has anyone actually seen the admittance packet yet? I say first one to get the formal notification lets us all know if scholarship money is included, and any other pertinent details.

I know you were joking, but actually my wife will be in Iowa for the next 2 years and $$$$ at Iowa vs $ or No money at T20 may mean I will be at Iowa.

How many of you are seriously considering Iowa as one of your top choices (and why)? It ranks high on my list since I ultimately want to practice law in Chicago and NU, Chicago, and UMich are outside the realm of possibility for me. I'm hoping they're splitter-friendly this cycle.

They are FedExing me the acceptance package abroad. I assume this is standard for all admitted students, in which case I think some of you will receive them later this week. I kind of expect mine on Friday (I hope).

I received the admissions "packet" very soon after the e-mail (I got accepted on a Friday, received the official letter on Monday). It does NOT include scholly info. They mention that merit and other scholarships will be granted later in the process (I believe it said they will start awarding scholarships in January).

Did you all do separate Iowa personal statements that address the 5 questions they ask?

My feeling is that i'll submit my general PS and then write a "Why Iowa" addendum.

Thoughts?

Don't remember - too long ago. I think I did the all-in-one deal, though. I'm not too sure that they actually read my PS, though.

Yeah, my numbers are competitive but i'm certainly not an auto-admit (59% according to LSP) so a brief "Why Iowa" is probably a good idea.
