There is actually an initial $750 due April 5th followed by another $750 due June 1st.

Oh ew. I'm guessing they're non refundable? Jeez... if I plan to do the WL thing for other schools, when will I even have time to get a loan?

In on 2/15
Complete on 12/9
162
3.76
non URM

Not especially excited about it; I'm somewhat interested in W&L but honestly I applied because it's free. We'll see. It's nice to be going 5 for 5 on acceptances though.

Yeah, if the deposits were refundable, I wouldn't have a problem with it. W&L's website also says there are no extensions for any reason. Most of the other schools I'm considering have deposit deadlines in late April/May 1. I wish law schools had a uniform deposit deadline (I think med schools do).

OK here's my beef with WL:

I am definitely a reject for them (157*, 3.53, non-URM, top 10 public school) and my app went complete 11/11.

Since 11/11 there has been no change to my info. I mean geez Loyola in Chicago can get back to you in 2 weeks, but after 3 months WL can't just reject me? The only thing I think keeps me in the game is that a former law professor from WL wrote me a rec letter. Do you think that's enough or did they just forget to send my rejection?

*plan on retaking if this cycle goes poorly, I never took a class and I really should have!

3 months seems excessive. Just give them a call and ask. Worst case scenario you look impatient. No big deal. Best case, you ge some info, and you show you're still interested.

Idk, three months is pretty normal for these types of schools. Excluding the auto-admits, Emory and W&M say not to expect a decision until late March early April (and I would assume most similarly ranked schools take just as long). You gotta realize...there's a reason Loyola Chicago got back to you so quickly. Jesus, FSU called me two days after going complete to tell me I got in. They want you to think, "Wow I got into a law school, I better take what I can get especially since this school really wants me." If Loyola accepted you so quickly, you probably have another acceptance from a better school coming your way in the future, maybe even W&L.

Good luck with the rest of your cycle. And just wait it out. I'm not giving my decisions until I've heard from every school.

This. I am one of the 2/19'ers. Anyone from that date get their letter yet? Also, do they provide scholarship info together with the acceptance letter (if that would be the case) or is that something that comes later?

Please do so. I am in CA, so I might have to wait awhile. Although I would probably be surprised if I don't get an acceptance letter... then again, seems like crazier things have happened in this cycle.

So your decision made/letter mailed was 2/19? So we are in the same batch?

Me too. If it's priority, I expect it today. Otherwise, tomorrow. I live in California.

Rejected-batch 2/19-166-3.4. Not very happy about this. But I have to move forward.

Thanks! Ended up emailing them *politely* and was told just that. Honestly I'm glad they're keeping me in the game, but I was always that kid who opened her presents 2 weeks before Christmas and discretely retaped them :)

LOL, all of a sudden I'm not feeling too confident about my application to W&L. So, thus far from the 2/19 batch, we have 1 cofirmed ding and 1 anticipated ding. I'm also in CA and might have to wait some time to get my decision letter.

This thread has made me feel progressively more positive about my chances of being waitlisted rather than rejected. Went complete in early November, silence so far, yet I "should" be an auto-reject (LSAT sub-160/GPA above median) but why wasn't I rejected with the 2/19 batch? Does this mean there's a shred of hope for a waitlist? I can't imagine why they would hold onto my application if they could have easily rejected me with everyone else.

So if any of you all are certain (or almost certain) you will be attending next year, I have created a facebook group. This is a more informal alternative to the admitted students one already created by the school. I thought it would be a good place for those of us already decided to start thinking about things such as housing etc.

Here is the link:

I don't know why you think you're an auto reject. W&L waitlists all most everybody. Unless your LSAT is way below 160, you are probably within the waitlist range.
