Re: Washington and Lee
declaw did you receive the last waitlist letter a few weeks ago? I would presume that they will draw from those people first if/ when a spot opens. I don't think they reached everyone from that group yet from reading earlier posts.

If it turns out you need more than you took, you just tell the financial aid office and they'll get you a check for however much more you want to take out within a weekish. So if you take out too little, it is an easy fix.
Thanks for the info. I'm always worried that something will come up and I won't have the funds to cover it.
Edit: And I guess this actually is everyone on the planet's concern as well!

I would think that the only significant waitlist movement might occur when the tuition payment is due. People who have double, triple deposited will have to make a choice. Any other thoughts?

Re: Washington and Lee
Did anyone else forget to send their transcripts? I have been traveling so haven't really been keeping up with email or mail and just noticed that they were suppose to have been received by TODAY. Don't I feel dumb.
I sent Brett an email and will be sending them first thing in the AM. I figure this is not the first time they have gotten late stuff, but it still stresses me out that I wasn't more mindful of the deadline.

Haha....no worries. I realized it a little late myself. As long as it's not a month late I think you'll be okay. The transcript has to come directly from the school though (at least that is the way I understood it).statuscheckerssuck wrote:Did anyone else forget to send their transcripts? Under FAQ it says the transcript isn't due til Aug 1. So I wouldn't stress about it.

I got into William and Mary today. Go figure.
I've yet to decide seeing as I am torn between W&L's character and environment against W&M's rank and in-state price. I wish W&L negotiated price. Oh well.
Any thoughts?

I think you might have a shot at w&l negotiations... I just filled out my survey asking whatI thought about w&l despite not choosing it and one of the questions was about scholarship money. they may be extra sensitive to it currently... you might try again...yinz wrote:How big a $ difference are we talking about?freeman09 wrote:I got into William and Mary today. I assumed that. That's how most schools are. But now they're clearly concerned their offers weren't quite right. None of the other surveys I've taken have asked about scholarships.jmhendri wrote:they've made it clear to several people they don't negotiate money.sibley wrote:I think you might have a shot at w&l negotiations... I heard with scholarships, but they've pulled a couple people of the WL so I'm assumming enrollment is ok.Emma1 wrote:W and L is overcommitted in enrollment, scholarships or both?

I doubt they'll move much either.
We are talking about 10k difference per year since I have in-state at WM. An extra 30 plus loan charges makes W&L considerably more.

Decided to go with W&M. W&L is great and I liked it there but can't turn down the difference in price. I hope this opens up a slot.
Best of luck to everyone.
