it's going well, but Vandy is a reach (although I thought more WL than ding :| )

Right now IUB with a full ride is leading my options. But, I'm anxiously waiting CA decisions (and the higher ups - Mich, Cornell, Duke, Boalt)

You?

I approve of your attitude! But waitlisted is better than locked out completely with a ding. At least we all still have a chance.

Nice I think one of those other schools with come through for you. Right now BC is my #1 choice. It would be a tough decision for me between BC and Vandy (I love Boston).

:D Though I must say, though I am almost definitely a WL 1/7 person, I am not a splitter. :-P

Mine switched to decision mailed 1/5 and there seem to be very few of us with that date out there. Good news? Bad?

Hoping this isn't my first outright rejection!

The consensus seems to be that the 1/5 batch is acceptances. Of course, I am also in that batch, so that's what I'm hoping for.

Right there with you, Tram. We can meet up for a drink in Newton and spin this like we're happy that a tough decision was made for us

Anyone else just get this email?

"Dear Holydonkey,

I hope this finds you well with the New Year off to a great start.

In the coming weeks, the Scholarship Committee will begin its deliberations concerning merit- and need-based scholarships, and continue to meet through February making awards to individual admitted students. The Committee awards three types of scholarships:"

.....

"Admitted Students Days ? March 26 and April 9

We will contact you soon concerning sign-ups for our March 26 and April 9 Admitted Students Programs. Please note that we can normally reimburse up to $200.00 of transportation expenses for those who attend.

Best wishes, and please be in touch if we may assist you.

This means 'in' right?

Not necessarily. Nothing means in until you get the admitted students package in the mail.

I can see a legitimate reason to send this email to students who have not been admitted yet also as the deadline for scholarship applications remains the same wether you have been admitted by now, or later. Also, they probably want everyone to be aware of when the ASWs are so they can plan accordingly in the event they are accepted.

Edit. Oh you have decision mailed. Nevermind. I guess In then.

2nd Edit: Just to clarify, I was admitted back in November and also got the email.

Well, boo. That email's the confirmation that 1/7 was waitlist or rejection. Mine got mailed then, and no email.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
