Aren't you already in somewhere better than Vandy? Like Duke or Georgetown maybe? If so and you know you won't be going to Vandy, then I see no harm in withdrawing your interview request (or just withdrawing altogether).somewhatwayward wrote:^
argh, i suppose it would be weird to retract my request?

She's not on the faculty, but Pee Wee Herman's (Paul Reubens') sister, Abby, is an adjunct professor at VULS.Kretzy wrote:I was going through the giant box o'stuff today, and I have to say I'm impressed with the book of faculty profiles. It saddened me to see that there wasn't a gender/sexuality scholar on the faculty, but it's nice to see a school focus on their faculty assets in the materials they send.
"Rubenfeld has been described by The Tennessean as "an attorney, mother, lesbian and board member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee." She is also an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University Law School and former chair of the Individual Rights and Responsibilities section of the American Bar Association and of the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association.
Rubenfeld has garnered significant opposition to her advocacy of rights for LGBT rights. She serves on the board of directors of the Human Rights Campaign, and previously was an attorney and Legal Director of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc."
Why wasn't this mentioned in the Vanderbilt viewbook? Any connection I may be able to make to Pee Wee is a HUGE selling point.

Interview in one hour
wish me luck!
Anyone have any idea how long after my interview I should get a decision? I've been complete since 11/6.

I had my interview a few days after the Sept LSAT and went complete at the end of Oct. Major splitter here but I've been under review for a month. Any ideas on when I should expect a decision? I'm hoping w/in the next two weeks.

I am out of US and do not request an interview. Would this be bad for the application?

I hope not, because I'm also abroad.lifeaway1985 wrote:I am out of US and do not request an interview. Would this be bad for the application?
A few people have gotten in without an interview, though, so hopefully, an interview is more just an added plus/ another chance to sell yourself, but if you can't do one, it won't hurt...?
Though I've been complete for over 5 weeks, have what I thought were decent numbers, and haven't heard a thing yet... so maybe I'm not one to talk

I like their interview program, but my interviewer seemed very nervous. I took that as a good sign because I felt like that meant he wanted to give me a fair shot and was taking it seriously. It could have been he was closing some big deal or something though...

I have been complete since 10/8. No love in the form of a "Decision Mailed" date.hopefulundergrad wrote:I had my interview a few days after the Sept LSAT and went complete at the end of Oct. In good news, I called their office yesterday to make absolutely sure my interview was on file - they are still the friendliest admissions office I have spoken with.

Crap, do you think they'll update your status checker too in a few days or just mail it? I'm behind I sent my app in last week, I hope I don't get my decision mailed while I'm away over the holidays - I'd die waiting to find out!

Re: Vanderbilt 2013
Hmm... did anyone who's been accepted so far check the box for the Law Scholars Merit Award form (there was a box on the app asking if you were planning on applying for that), and HASN'T submitted it yet? (apologies for the awkward sentence structure with potentially incorrect grammar)
I ask because I submitted my app mid-Oct and was complete by 10/26, but haven't heard a thing, even though people who went complete later and/or have lower numbers have gotten in already (congrats, y'all!)... wondering if that could possibly be the hold-up? I didn't sign up for an interview (abroad), so that's not it...
