well, this is hopeful.
I know I've commented on your avatar before, but instead of reading "well, this is hopeful" I heard "oh boy!" in a Butters voice. :D

If memory serves from last year, the only decision dates where you could tell what the decision was before receiving the letter was from the first batch in January. I think after that, it's a mixed bag. So I don't think that it's really possible to make any inferences from the 1/12 date.

LSN seems to confirm this. I'm not seeing a stictly rejection/waitlist/acceptabce bag after the first week of January. Darn.

Thank you everyone who went DM 1/12 who gave your complete date. Now I know not to bother looking amy status checker until next week. If theya ren't evendone with October my 11/10 app probably has bit of a ways to go.

True, I'm late November, looks like awhile still until I need to start frantically checking my status.

Haven't received yet but I was part of the 1/7 crowd so I'm awaiting my WL. Damn Canada's slow mail.

Looking at last year's LSN for Vanderbilt, after the initial wave of acceptances during the first week of January, it was a WL bonanza until the end of the month. Given our splitter/borderline scores, I think we're screwed.

...and I'm assuming if we don't get mail by tomorrow (assuming acceptances are priority mail) we should all expect some pretty thin envelopes in the coming days.

Are the two who said they were WL'ed on the last page from the 1/12 batch?

1/12 batch here. Complete 10/30. URM splitter. LSAT way above 75%, GPA way below 25%. They are pretty big GPA whores, so I'm not expecting much.

the only thing that seems to be consistent about the 1/12 batch is that we are all splitters. woo!

Normal and reverse splitters it looks like. If it's not all rejections, then I'd assume accepts and WLs. Since some of us balance each other out and the rest they aren't that interested in.

If I'm rejected, oh well. If I'm WL'ed, I'll withdraw. If accepted, I hope they throw some $$ my way.

Has there only been one batch of rejections so far? Or none?

How long did it take you all to go complete from the time they received your application from LSAC? I'm going on over a week since the report was sent and I still haven't heard anything back.

5-6 days, but that was in early November. Wouldn't be surprised with two weeks now. No longer than that.

DR 1/12. Complete 10/26. No interview. Probably won't go to Vandy, even if accepted. LSAT above 75th, GPA slightly below median.

Just got the WL letter a few minutes ago. GPA above median and LSAT above 75% so they must have really hated my Personal Statement lol.

Surprising that they WL you. Hopefully your $90k at UIUC takes the sting out of it.

Vanderbilt hasn't been kind to 168s so far. :|

Thanks for that. I'm tossing up whether to stay on the list to tell you the truth. I thought my grades would get me a spot there but they obviously didn't like something. Probably couldn't afford it without some $ anyway hehe

As for UIUC, I'm not from the states so I'm having trouble figuring out if it's even a viable option for employment outside the mid-west. I realize this is the wrong thread for thoughts on that school, just kinda venting :)
