Don't toy with my emotions like that I'm so on edge right now. I actually have a WW costume ... but I think I'm going with the khakis and a button up, haha.pleasetryagain wrote:haha.. Hey, does anyone know how likely it is for one to get off the waitlist? Is it ranked? I'm planning on sending a LOCI and scheduling a visit sometime in the future(hard because I'm in the northeast and in undergrad still).

Is there a way to pay the deposit online?

Don't think so. I believe the only way is via check through the mail.newyorklaw23 wrote:Is there a way to pay the deposit online?

I wish. Unfortunately, I did not find any alternative other than snailmailing it. However, I did mail it certified... just cuz its a big check, so it made me feel better.newyorklaw23 wrote:Is there a way to pay the deposit online?
Are you worried about the security or the time? If the latter, you have til Thursday to send it; has to be postmarked by April 15th, not received.

Re: Vanderbilt 2013
i'm confused.
last year on LSN someone originally got offered a an 81,000 dollar scholarship in early march and then somehow got a full ride later, but he doesn't note whether it was before or after the deposit deadline. once we deposit, there is really no incentive for them to offer us the full ride, right?
also, i read the deposit paper carefully, and it doesn't say you have to withdraw other offers, right?

The hardest withdrawal of my cycle, right here. Thanks to folks who have been willing to discuss their decision dilemmas with me! You'll all have such a great time at Vandy:).

vandy changed their negotiation policies and no longer negotiate offers (or so they claim).somewhatwayward wrote:i'm confused.

Re: Vanderbilt 2013
anyone know the answer to my question about whether we have to WD other offers if we put the deposit down?
also, fwiw, when i e-mailed the scholarship person awhile ago, she told me that if there was a change to my scholarship offer, she would let me know soon. she didn't say 'we don't negotiate.' the former statement doesn't preclude the latter, though.

Putting a deposit down doesn't mean you have to withdraw from any of the other school's you are admitted/WL/or waiting to hear from. I confirmed this with Admissions when I was trying to decide between Vandy and another school.somewhatwayward wrote:anyone know the answer to my question about whether we have to WD other offers if we put the deposit down?

i don't know whether or not vandy's waitlist is ranked but i think they make some use of it, not as much as georgetown, but more than cornell or ucla. and they seem to draw 50/50 from traditional splitters and reverse splitters.jrobby6 wrote:anyone? Echoing the above poster, I regrettably have to withdraw my application. I hope this helps someone else get a seat soon. Best of luck to all who are attending Vandy next fall. Please PM observationalist and get involved with the brewing guild, brew some great beer, drink it amongst your classmates, and then bring some to me in Durham.
