I applied super late-something like the end of February, so I am not expecting much.rad law wrote:I was 168/3.75 and in with $$ way back in January. When did you apply?hoyas2010 wrote:DM 4/26, 168/3.77. Anyone heard yet?

DM 4/28 slightly under both medians. Long shot for me...Does Vandy mail decisions in batches? I know that one other person on LSN went DM 4/28 with a 148, 3.3 so if they do, I suppose my chances of even getting a WL are quite small. Here's to hoping, though!

DM 4/26: WL. I don't see much point in sticking around. I already deposited on an apt in another city. And I didn't interview...

I'm a 4/26-er, but I live in DC, so I haven't gotten anything yet. I'm dying to know. Anyone have any new info?

DM 4/26 - Ding
Not much of a surprise. Goodluck to those on the waitlist and waiting for a decision.

Just want to point out that the ABA Journal podcast has been rescheduled for June 7th.observationalist wrote:Thank you rawlsian. Check out the upcoming ABA Journal podcast on May 3rd... it's with our rising Vanderbilt 3L, the Dean from Northwestern, Elie from ATL, and the current Chair of the ABA's accreditation committee. I'll send a link once it's available.Rawlsian wrote:It's great to see you guys getting such positive press. Your project seems like it's picking up steam.observationalist wrote:G'luck to those WL'ed. Keep staying in touch with the school, visit when you can, and in the meantime contact the other schools you're looking at to see if they'll release similarly detailed information about job prospects. Vandy and a few others are leading the charge but we need all of you to jump on board and start contacting the schools as well.
I'd also encourage those of you with acceptances to contact the school and see when they're going to release 2L summer employment information. It may be too late in the summer for you to make a decision on it, but it's worth letting them know you're interested so that they won't wait to get that information out. They've done it the last two years (with the Recruitment Handbook they publish) and we have high hopes they will continue publishing this information even though the job prospects are diminished from the previous year.
Anyways, ATL link on Vanderbilt/Law School Transparency: http://abovethelaw.com/2010/04/increasi ... o-be-done/
In the meantime g'luck to those of you riding the WL. Definitely visit if you're committed to staying on. To those accepted and trying to decide, be sure to contact Career Services and ask them for updated employment information. They've been great the last couple of years but even the more transparent administrations need to be reminded about the role it plays in your decisionmaking process, especially now that the only available information (Class of '09) refers to the OCI season before firms started reducing summer programs. Hopefully some of you coming in next year as 1Ls (either at Vandy or elsewhere) will feel like volunteering some of your time to keeping this project on a roll.

I'm a bit of a long shot, below median on LSAT. I'm expecting a ding or WL at most, but we'll see! Vandy's my first choice.

Re: Vanderbilt 2013
at least last year, high lsat and high gpa splitters were taken off the waitlist in about equal numbers, so it's possible you're not at a disadvantage compared to traditional splitterscadcapp wrote:musicfor18 wrote:DM 5/5 here also. Predictions?cadcapp wrote:DM 5/5 ... anyone else?

I ended up withdrawing from consideration today. I probably would have received a decision in the next week or so, but it didn't make sense to stay on. Best of luck to all still waiting.
