Corrected for better accuracy.
Honestly, I'm starting to think UW is worse. I'm not even in review yet at UW, while I was accepted to Davis last week on Thursday.
Thanks for rubbing it in dude.
dude, im not in review yet for BOTH UW and Davis
this sucks

Sorry, I just expected to be waiting until mid-March at the earliest and was pleasantly surprised when I heard from Davis 8th out of the 22 schools I applied to. I wish everyone still in a holding pattern the best of luck!

It's okay. Congrats to you. The waiting game is just getting very tiresome. I don't understand why it looks they didn't admit ANYONE this week?? They've had apps for 5 months now!

Hey man, tough cycle! On the bright side you have 2 great schools waitlisted, and still have a decent shot at some of the others you've applied to. Just think, if you only have one acceptance, the choice is easy!

Best of luck, I'm sure youll pull at least one.

Davis must take a HOLISTIC view of EACH application.

Someone said Davis takes 4 minutes max to review each app and make a decision...that means in an 8 hour workday they can review about 500 apps per day....which means they can read all 5000+ apps they receive in just a couple weeks.

Just took a look at UCD OCI employers today on NALP. I was literally blown away. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many firms holding campus interviews at only 15-20 or so schools where Davis was sandwiched in between the likes of Harvard, NW, Duke, Penn, Boalt, Columbia, Stanford, etc. Nice to know they get that kind of love from employers.

Also, where there was Davis, so too did a firm hold campus interviews at Hastings. Almost without exception.

Where on the website did you find that info?

I know, I was being sarcastic. It seems a little ridiculous to me how slow they are.

Although they do admit to taking 4 minutes per application, this is only to categorize each application as either "accepted" "committee" or "rejected". I think the majority go to "committee", which means a complex process of multiple readings. Also, they self report that according to LSAC, Davis finds the most mistakes in applications (such as wrong transcripts attached to files). I think they take a lot of time on each application which I suppose is nice, it's just getting a bit annoying...

No I don't have a link, I'm an undergrad at Davis and I attended their King Hall Pre-Law Boot Camp. We had a session with the dean of admissions and it was there that she said she has found a lot of (rather embarrassing) LSDAS report mistakes. Like page 1 of a transcript will be for person A and page 2 of a transcript will be for person B. She was trying to show how signing up for LSAC early, before they hire all the temps in the winter, who make more mistakes. She said that when they report the problems to LSAC, they say that UC Davis catches the most mistakes that go unnoticed at other schools.

Has anyone already accepted received scholarship information in a separate correspondence outside of the initial acceptance packet?

Just trying to decide if I will be withdrawing and w/o money there is no way I am signing up for those tuition hikes at sticker.

Here: --LinkRemoved--

Search for UC Davis under "Campus interviews" and voila!

Well, their UC colleagues in Berkeley unleashed holy hell today. Dreams dashed all over the place. Frownie faces all over the Berkeley boards. It's a crime scene out there.

But at least Boalt keeps moving ahead. C'mon, Davis.

Still in "evaluation in progress". I'm already in at Hastings and kind of forget about Davis due to the never ending wait. But if I get into Davis, I would be ecstatic. Good luck to everyone waiting. At least the weather is starting to get nice!
