I'd be in a sour mood, but Tim Lincecum is killing the Phillies right now.

I'm thinking it's more like they were bombarded, understaffed and haven't even gotten to reading them.pomfiend wrote:I am with you, Phoenix! I am going to stay positive until I receive the decision. I feel that there must be some reason why some of us have been waiting so long - I just have a hard time believing they've held our applications for 3+ months just to reject us in the end. It could happen, but it really wouldn't make sense.phoenix323 wrote:PunjabiLower wrote:I hate saying this...but I think they'll just wait to send out rejections on the very last few days...IE Thursday and Friday... I just want to call it first.
You're hardly the first, but thanks.
I'm staying positive with the 5 other folks in the Davis thread who still believe in miracles... lol!

Today I'm not even able to log into the status check. Looks like Davis is going from ignoring me to actively phasing me out.

Or maybe so many people tried to log on at once, that we broke it...lol.
I hope it's the former

Perhaps this is to increase the intensity of my taunting. Now I put in my name and password, only to return to the name and password screen. I am but an ape banging away against the bars of futility.phoenix323 wrote:Maybe it means you're in!pegleg wrote: Today I'm not even able to log into the status check. That happened to me a few days ago. I just closed my browser and re-opened it and then it worked.pegleg wrote:Perhaps this is to increase the intensity of my taunting. The end of April is this Friday, perhaps we can expect some decisions tomorrow and the day after.A few decisions will be made in December, although the majority of decisions will be made and communicated between January and the end of April.

Alright, so it sounds like calling is a bad idea. I'll wait until Monday, though.
By May 1st I don't think I should feel guilty about a polite phone call.

Re: UC Davis
There are people that have been waiting for a response since November. Eventually, a wait time transforms into mocking disrespect whether you intended for it to or not. A student has paid you $60 to $80 dollars to have their application read, and your school makes them wait 7 months, long past their deposit deadlines at other schools, to hear from you? That reflects poorly on the organizational efficiency of your institution and inadvertantly turns you into a primadonna.ninjastyle wrote:By May 1st I don't think you should feel guilty about a bitchy phone call either.missinglink wrote:Alright, so it sounds like calling is a bad idea. We know you are busy, but have at least some respect for what an expensive and frustrating process this is for the students and don't make it unnecessarily more expensive and frustrating.

Yeah, if you don't hear today/ tomorrow, definitely call on Monday- that's pretty bold of them if they do not give you a decision by the end of this week.

Someone on here had it finally change to "eval in progress." Lulz.
If you think it's going to ruin your day to find out it's a waitlist or rejection, don't do it. But I envy you for having the ability to know one way or the other

No one else does this, Davis. But H, Y, S, etc etc etc most likely process wayyyyy more applications than you do (total conjecture on my part, no actual numbers to back it up...ignore my hyperbole if this is false) and they don't have this reputation of blatant disregard for the process. All other schools managed to get my a response before my deposits were due at other schools. What makes it so tough for Davis.
aaaaaaaaaaaaand..../rant.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
