damn full two weeks without a mass acceptances... maybe there is that much of an increase in apps and they already accepted too much, and they're waiting to see if people withdraw?

My guess is that since the 3/15 target is next week, we won't be seeing any admissions decisions until then...

Did anyone here happen to have applied to the Webster Society? If so, when do you think we'll hear back?

I wouldn't put too much stock in the online status tracker in terms of searching for clues of acceptance. The first notification I received was the acceptance email while the status tracker still said in progress or app received or whatever. The status tracker took maybe three weeks after the acceptance email to switch to "complete."

I'm confident in saying that if you're in, the first way you will know that is via email. I wouldn't waste your time checking it every day searching for clues.

It also looks like Wash U. is being a numbers slave this cycle (and maybe all cycles?). A 167 is basically in, unless you're a major splitter. A 165 and you're probably going to have to wait for some of the 167's to withdrawal. I think WUSTL is holding out on 165'ers and late-app 166'ers, hoping that enough 167's withdrawal to prevent waitlists and rejects. I'm guessing waitlisting someone reduces long-term likelihood of attendance as opposed to simply procrastinating.

I'm not sure that WUSTL really goes about selecting students in the best way towards achieving a diverse, interesting student body. Looks like it is a straight up numbers game for them. Can't blame them, but that's enough to make me think twice about attending.

I also applied to Webster Society! The Assistant Dean I met with said they don't decided pick them until pretty late in the game. Also, if you receive a "Scholar in Law" award, it doesn't mean that you're out of the running for Webster.

They only giving Webster to maybe three people this cycle, fyi.

I applied as well, I got the scholar in law award but I applied for both the webster society and the walter moran farmer scholarship, really hoping I get one of those as well that would be very cool!

Has anyone received their financial aid package or successfully negotiated their scholarships yet?

.
Yup. Mine only has one update that says I was complete on 2/23. I was accepted via email on 2/25 but the status checker never changed.

People who were accepted before roughly mid-february have received their scholarships. I don't know if anyone has negotiated it higher though.

Yeah, I recieved mine but I haven't even attempted to negotiate any higher. I don't see my offer getting any better, though I guess it's worth a shot.

Thanks for this. I have been wondering about the Webster as well. I'm happy with my SIL award, but the webster would be that much better.

So, no updates for 3/9 people who have "Complete" date changes three times now? Just curious as to what is happening with this batch...

WUSTL defies our most reasoned guesswork. At this point, nobody can claim to know anything.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
