congrats!! hope i find the same letter in my mailbox this afternoon...TheBigMediocre wrote:Just opened my mailbox to find an offer of tuition equalization in the mail from UGA! Moves my first year tuition and fees from $30,226 to $14,448 and I already had plans of establishing residency for years two and three.
This nearly seals the deal for me unless Emory comes up big or Vandy does something unusual.

Congratulations. Hopefully, this will kick off a string of UGA spending like drunken sailors on OOS applicants.

Re: Univ of Georgia
add me to the list of held for further review. 164, sub 3, so it's understandable:/

Re: Univ of Georgia
Recieved Tuition Equalization Scholarship today via snailmail. 165/3.1x.
I dont think it is there for 2nd and 3rd year because it is fairly easy to establish residency. I did a little research, and 70% of students who attempt to establish in-state are able to. So I think if you really commit and get a Georgia Liscence and pay Georgia taxes and all that good stuff, it shouldn't be too hard.
Georgia is now 6k cheaper than wake. LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!

Re: Univ of Georgia
Congrats to those who have received the scholarship! Might I ask in which state you reside, and/or when the letter was postmarked?
I got myself all excited about the prospect of studying in Athens after UGA was the first school to accept me and I did some research on the place. Sounds pretty great. But it would also take the tuition equalization for UGA to be as cheap as the U of MN and the U of IL are for me at this point. Georgia weather would really suit me, but it would still be hard to choose if it's $20,000 more expensive...
Here's hoping a letter is on its way to NYC (and addressed to me, of course)!

Re: Univ of Georgia
Count me in the tuition equalization group.
I have to admit, GA is climbing my list very rapidly. I didn't expect it to be this way, but hey that's how things go I guess.
Congrats to all on acceptances and schollys.

Anyone else get an email from Cerrone Coker w/ the recipient's email addresses not BCC'ed and visible?
Maybe that wasn't a mistake but I would imagine that schools would want email addresses to remain confidential...
